'Alchemy of Souls' Part 1 Ending Earns Mixed Reactions
Jung So Min and Lee Jae Wook's highly rated fantasy series "Alchemy of Souls" Part 1 finally bid goodbye to fans with its final episode!

On August 28, the drama released its final episode, closing the first part of the story. While many were amped, some fans expressed their disappointment with its ending.
Technically, the series isn't fully completed yet as the second part of the season will be released in December 2022. With that said, it is safe to say that the series ended with a cliffhanger.
However, this doesn't sit well with fans as many unresolved problems and evident loopholes were seen in the final episode, which also felt rushed according to viewers.

Some even joked about suing the Hong Sisters, the amazing duo who penned "Alchemy of Souls," due to their disappointment for taking the "kill-the-main-character" trope.
In addition to that, fans still couldn't accept that Jung So Min, who has shown her prowess in transforming into Mu Deok, will be replaced by Go Yoon Jung.

In the drama, Go Yoon Jung participated briefly as the shadow assassin Naksu before she "swapped" souls with Jung So Min's character.
Fans argued that Jung So Min's character's story isn't resolved yet. Even more so, the character was suspiciously abducted away by mysterious people in the final episode of the series.
With this, many viewers demand answers from the production unit. They also ask not to replace Jung So Min in the second part.
Will Jung So Min Not Participate in 'Alchemy of Souls' Part 2?
The production unit announced that Go Yoon Jung will replace Jung So Min as the main lead in the upcoming second part of "Alchemy of Souls" earlier this month.

According to them, Jung So Min signed the contract to only appear in Part 1. Because of the commotion, the agency of the actress, Blossom Entertainment, clarified the situation.
A representative from the agency shared that Jung So Min isn't totally leaving the cast in the second part of the series, but will appear with a minor role whilst Go Yoon Jung takes over the drama as the female lead character.

In particular, Go Yoon Jung took the Hallyu world by storm with her appearance in the first episode, as well as the preview for the second part of "Alchemy of Souls."
