‘Once Upon a Small Town’ Episode 5: Choo Young Woo Rescues Red Velvet’s Joy

'Once Upon a Small Town' Episode 5 Recap
In the latest episode, "Once Upon a Small Town" began with Officer Ahn Ja Young still bothered by Lee Sang Hyun's confession.
At the station, her longtime friend, Lee Sang Hyun visited her and brought her her favorite coffee from the peach farm.

During their conversation, he asked if she was annoyed with what he said; however, based on Ja Young's reaction she doesn't know what to do or how to be around her friend after confessing his feelings.
Moreover, she pointed out that she is scared that their relationship will not be as normal as it was before.
It can be recalled that Sang Hyun tells Ahn Ja Young that he wanted to let out his bottled-up emotions toward her which surprised the female officer.
Interestingly, as Han Ji Yul passed by the station, he saw Officer Ahn and Lee Sang Hyun being close to each other which made him jealous.
As he returned to the vet hospital, the assistant mentioned that Ahn Ja Young borrowed a cage for the puppies and went to the woods alone.
At this point, he remembered that she was inviting him to rescue Boksil's puppies and bring them to the shelter.
Using his bike, he hurried to the woods where they saw the puppies with Ahn Ja Young single-handedly arranged things.
As they return to the vet hospital, Han Ji Yul asked Officer Ahn why she left her bike there and walked all alone to rescue the dogs. She didn't answer but smiled at him.
In the next scene, he learned that Ahn Ja Young fixed his bike and got some spare parts from her bike, which is why the officer can't use her.
The Confrontation
In "Once Upon a Small Town" episode 5, Lee Sang Hyun confronted Han Ji Yuk about her feelings toward Officer Ahn.
Moreover, he also mentioned how he hates seeing Ahn Ja Young care about Han Ji Yuk as much as she loved the village and will eventually get hurt when she sees him go back to Seoul.
Lastly, he warned the doctor not to give Officer Ahn the wrong idea.
Han Ji Yul Gets Troubled About Ahn Ja Young's Accident
In the last scene, his young neighbor talked to him about Ahn Ja Young saying how nice the officer is.
"She's as nice as my grandma," he said,
Han Ji Yul opened up and said that he and the female police had a little fight.
Little did he know that Ahn Ja Young was on the phone; however, as the boy handed over the phone, Han Ji Yuk heard a loud crash and immediately hurried to check on Ahn Ja Young.
He saw Ahn Ja Young and a male officer unconscious and trapped inside the car but struggled to rescue them because he kept remembering a past in a similar situation.
