Before his much awaited drama comeback, Kim Soo Hyun's bitter past has attracted lots of attention from the public. It was revealed that Kim Soo Hyun was set to take on Jung Eui Chul's character in "Boys Over Flowers" during his rookie days.

Unfortunately, the director of the drama pointed him out due to his poor acting during the script reading and later on withdrew from the work. The drama was supposedly Kim Soo Hyun's breakthrough role.

Despite the situation that chipped his pride, Kim Soo Hyun didn't give up and continued working harder. Thankfully, he was cast in the dramas "Dream High" and "Moon Embracing the Sun," which cemented his name in the industry.

He reunited with "The Thieves" co-star Jun Ji Hyun in "My Love From the Star," a work that achieved a syndrome-level success. It boosted his rank as an actor, expanding his fan base and credibility.

Kim Soo Hyun was also lauded for his portrayal of a caregiver in a psychiatric ward in the Emmy nominee and multi-awarded drama "It's Okay To Not Be Okay."

Thanks to his perseverance and vastly improved acting performance, the once "poor" actor achieved immense success and became the top rated actor of South Korea today.

Kim Soo Hyun In Talks To Headline Park Ji Eun's New Work

Earlier this 2022, Kim Soo Hyun received an offer to star in "My Love From the Star" writer Park Ji Eun's upcoming historical romance drama "Queen of Tears."

On November 4, the actor's agency, Gold Medalist, officially confirmed that the actor is reviewing the offer with a positive feeling.

Should he accept the offer, "Queen of Tears" will mark his reunification with writer Park Ji Eun, following the popular works "My Love From the Star" and "The Producers."
