'The Season of Kkokdu' Premieres in THIS Month
Im Soo Hyang, who delighted the viewers with her drama "Doctor Lawyer," is gearing up for another project to be released next year.
According to Star News on November 23, "The Season of Kkokdu" in which the actress will star alongside Kim Jung Hyun is confirmed to start airing on January 27, 2023.
"The Season of Kkokdu" is a romance-fantasy series that follows the story of a grim reaper named Kkokdu who visits the earth every 99 years to punish humans. He then meets Gye Jeol, a doctor with mysterious abilities, and starts working as a visiting doctor.
Glimpse of Kim Jung Hyun & Im Soo Hyang's Characters
After two years of hiatus, Kim Jung Hyun returns to acting at the beginning of 2023. He will immerse himself in the character of Kkokdu, the god of death, also known as the grim reaper. He is cold and cruel, and as part of his punishment, his job is to lead dead spirits to the afterworld. He comes down to earth and possesses a human body.

Opposite him is Im Soo Hyang, who takes the role of Han Gye Jeol, a visiting physician. She came from the country's lowest-ranked medical school and is intimidated by people who look down on her credentials. She only lives with her younger brother after their mother died.
'The Season of Kkokdu': Kim Da Som, Ahn Woo Yeon, Kim In Kwon & Cha Chung Hwa Join the Cast
Kim Da Som is Tae Jung Won, a loving mother to her kids. Ahn Woo Yeon will portray Han Chul's character, which is Han Gye Jeol's younger brother and also a righteous detective.
Kim In Kwon plays the role of Ok Shin, the one who guides Kkokdu. Kim Jung Hyun will also reunite with former "Mr. Queen" co-star Cha Chung Hwa in this series, who will play the character of Gak Shin.
These actors are already receiving enthusiastic responses from the public and viewers are excited about their performances.
Apart from the actors, the production team, particularly the creatives are composed of talented individuals. Kang Ki Yeon and Heo Jun Woo, who are excellent at writing crime thriller dramas, will collaborate with the team. Directors Baek Soo Chan and Kim Ji Hoon are also joining forces to deliver compelling production at the beginning of 2023.
"The Season of Kkokdu" will occupy the Friday and Saturday slots on MBC.
