‘Summer Strike’ Episode 3: Seolhyun Learns About Im Siwan’s Past

'Summer Strike' Episode 3: Lee Yeo Reum Receives Hostility From Residents
Lee Yeo Reum (Seolhyun) slowly adapts to her new home, and learns to love the place despite the residents' territorial attitude.
In episode 3, Lee Yeo Reum embraces her new life in the rural area. However, she worries about her day-to-day expenses when she calculates her money, and realizes how little money she has left even after working for four years.
To live a life in Angok without doing anything is to save money by spending only 10,000 KRW a day; a tight budget for others but enough for her.
She's rich in terms of time now, and she would rather read books and watch movies all night instead. Her life in the countryside isn't so easy as it seems as Bae Sung Min (Kwak Min Gyu) tries to kick her out of the billiard room she rents.

Bae Sung Min persuades the children to pester Lee Yeo Reum, and asks the residents to show their territorial attitude. She also worries about her puppy who's also a victim of the people's hostility.
The residents also vandalized Lee Yeo Reum's wall, threatening her to go away. Despite it all, she stands tall and decides to stay.
Ahn Dae Beom's Enigmatic Past Gets Revealed
Elsewhere, Ahn Dae Beom's (Im Siwan) past is revealed. Like Lee Yeo Reum, he once set himself on a journey.
He went to Seoul with Jo Ji Young (Park Ye Young) and studied medicine. Ahn Dae Beom has been recruited to work at a prestigious hospital before but he rejects most offers.
He then goes back to Angok to become a librarian, saying that he likes a more peaceful life than anything else.
Ahn Dae Beom raises questions as to what forced him to change. In episode 3, he stares at his thesis which he had written in the past with pain in his eyes.
Lee Yeo Reum and Ahn Dae Beom, who met at the wrong time, are much more alike than they think. The two of them live their lives in Angok with a difficult story and a painful past behind.
