GOT7’s Jinyoung Talks About ‘Uncertainty & Anxiety’ While Playing Dual Role in ‘A Christmas Carol’

GOT7's Jinyoung shares his thoughts about his new movie "A Christmas Carol" where he plays a dual role. The idol-actor transforms as twins in the upcoming psychological thriller film based on a novel.

Ahead of the movie's premiere, the South Korean heartthrob talks about his preparations and experience filming two characters.

Park Jinyoung graced the press conference along with his co-stars Kim Dong Hwi, Kim Young Min, Song Gun Hee, and Heo Dong Won together with director Kim Sung Soo as they talked about the movie.

GOT7's Jinyoung Dishes on How He Played Dual Role in 'A Christmas Carol'

As obtained by a media outlet, GO7's Jinyoung spoke about the struggles he encountered mentally and physically during the preparations for his role

"Rather than stress about acting, there was no answer to 'Is this right or not?' but there was uncertainty and anxiety about my approach to the characters."

The actor also opened up about the anxiety he felt while acting as he plays twin brothers Joo Il Woo and Joo Wol Woo

"I had anxiety about whether I was in more contact with Il Woo or Wol Woo, but I wasn't too stressed out."

In the upcoming movie, the actor plays the lead character of a twin brother who purposely went to a juvenile detention center to seek revenge following the death of his sibling, Wol Woo

However, he found himself caught up in a tense confrontation with a juvenile gang.

"A Christmas Carol" not only depicts the vengeance of Il Woo but also the complete opposite personality of the twins.

Wol Woo is someone who has an innocent and carefree attitude while Il Woo is the protector of his grandmother and mother.

Interestingly, amid Wol Woo's sweet side lies a hidden secret that he couldn't tell anyone.

As the "A Christmas Carol" press conference continues, Park Jinyoung shares what he wanted the viewers to see and feel while watching the movie.

He mentioned that his "biggest goal" for people is to see how "Il Woo and Wol Woo are clearly opposite characters" and for the viewers "to understand the characters through my portrayal."

Park Jinyoung's new movie will be released in theaters this December 7. It was helmed by Yeon Sang Ho of "Monstrous" and Kim Sung Soo of "Save Me."

GOT7 Jinyoung's Cameo in 'Reborn Rich'

Apart from his upcoming movie, GOT7's Jinyoung recently appeared in Song Joong Ki's drama "Reborn Rich."

The singer-actor made a significant part in the JTBC series and was lauded by viewers for his stellar performance.

In addition, he also wowed fans with the surprising twist on his character.

In the latest JTBC series, Park Jinyoung took the role of Shin Kyung Min, a new employee at Soonyang Group where Yoon Hyun Woo, played by Song Joong Ki, is his senior.

However, the last scene in episode 1 featured a significant part of Yoon Hyun Woo's life as he gets reborn into a third-generation chaebol.
