"Under the Queen's Umbrella" episode 16 wraps up the season with a remarkable achievement as Kim Hye Soo's character was able to fulfill her promise and duty as the Joseon Queen and doting mother to her sons.

Despite the setbacks, she was able to face the challenges and set things right where they belong.

On the other hand, the show concluded with a perfect streak by maintaining a solid viewership rating.

'Under the Queen's Umbrella' Cast

Released by tvN and streamed via Netflix, the historical K-drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella" features the unstoppable Queen Im Hwa Ryung who ensures to protect her sons amid the greedy and ambitious royals as well as keeping her responsibilities as the Queen.

In the drama, Queen Im Hwa Ryung is played by Kim Hye Soo, who was lauded for her perfect portrayal of the King's wife of mother of the grand princes.

Meanwhile, the antagonist is played by Kim Hae Sook who took the role of Queen Dowager Cho.

As for the grand princes, Moon Sang Min plays the new Crown Prince named Seongnam while Yoon Sang Hyeon, Yoo Sun Ho, and Park Ha Jun play the grand princes.

'Under the Queen's Umbrella' Viewership

As the historical K-drama wraps up the season, the Kim Hye Soo-led K-drama concludes the season with a new milestone.

According to Nielsen Korea, "Under the Queen's Umbrella" viewership garnered an average nationwide rating of 16.9 percent, ending the season with an all-time high.

The "Under the Queen's Umbrella" finale episode starts with the council pointing out that the King should punish Prince Uiseong for teaming up with the former grand prince during the attempted rebellion.

However, the king mentioned that they lack evidence that would show that the young royal is part of the treason.

On the other hand, the episode featured the new life of Prince Uiseong and Consort Hwang who have been living outside the palace.

With this, Queen Im Hwa Ryung was able to keep her promise to depose Queen Yoon, Prince Uiseong's grandmother, who wanted him to be alive after the grand prince, disguised as royal physician Kwon, was killed.

One of the highlights of "Under the Queen's Umbrella" episode 16 is the Crown Princess' health status.

Queen Im Hwa Ryung was able to prove that Queen Dowager Cho is planning to sabotage the Crown Princess' pregnancy after he instructed the royal physician to abort the baby.

Thankfully, he informed Queen Im Hwa Ryung about it and her plan was exposed in front of the King.

With Queen Im Hwa Ryung's advice to set things right, the King have decided to punish Queen Dowager Cho, despite the royal being his mother.

He pointed out that he is doing this not as her son but as the King.

The next day, her court lady found the lifeless Queen Dowager Cho with a voiceover that said "no one can punish me."

Despite the devastating incident that happened to Her Majesty, the King regrets the things he did years ago and continues to show his greatness with his righteous example.

As for Queen Im Hwa Ryung, he was able to fulfill her duties and guide not just her grand princes but other young royals as well.
