‘The Forbidden Marriage’ Episode 5: Crown Princess Haunts Kim Young Dae in His Dreams
Due to the tension going on in the palace and Lee Heon's confused feelings, the late crown princess haunts the king through his dreams in "The Forbidden Marriage" episode 5.
'The Forbidden Marriage' Episode 5: Tension Rises Between Lee Heon & Lee Shin Won
Lee Shin Won (Kim Woo Seok) took Ye So Rang (Park Ju Hyun) away from King Lee Heon (Kim Young Dae) and told her about the conjugal night. So Rang was shocked and didn't believe it, and he gave her a warm embrace.
The King saw them and got furious. He challenged Shin Won in a duel, and if he wins, he can take So Rang with him.
Shin Won was hesitant to go against his best friend, but the King already raised his sword, signaling the beginning of their match.
Lee Heon got angry and returned to his bedchamber and asked not to bother him.
Ye So Rang, on the other hand, confronted Shin Won and asked why he acted that way. In return, he asked if she really was not aware of his feelings towards her and if she also felt the same way.
So Rang broke his heart and confessed she only sees him as a friend.
Meanwhile, Lady Seo (Park Sun Young) secretly escorted Grand Queen Mother to her training school for prospective brides. Hyun Hee (Song Ji Woo), who got noticed, introduced herself as Hyun Seon.
Back in the palace, some maids saw the late Crown Princess while on their way to do laundry and were frightened.
At Aedaldang, new romance begins to bloom between Chun Seok and Hae Young (Jung Bo Min). Painter Jung (Hong Si Young) saw them and was jealous. But thanks to his novels, he got closer to her.
King Lee Heon Confused of His Feelings For So Rang
Lee Heon called Shin Won and wanted to punish him, but he couldn't. He requested him to protect So Rang as a favor for a friend. He also told him not to fall in love with her.
Shin Won then reminded him of the late crown princess and wondered if he has forgotten So Rang's true purpose in the palace.

The King was guilty, which made him dream about the crown princess. He woke up with So Rang sitting beside him. He asked her if she got possessed by the crown princess, but it frustrated her and commited another lie to him.
Crown Princess Shows Herself as Ghost
The following day, to feed his curiosity, the King together with So Rang and Shin Won dressed like commoners outside the palace. They went for a walk and visited the crown princess' favorite places.
However, during their trip, they heard various rumors about the king being gay, and was too busy worshipping the princess and failed to give her a son.
Shin Won caught So Rang paying the two women and realized that what they said was all made up. She tried to clarify her side and used the friend card to prevent him from telling it to Lee Heon.
In return, he asked her not to fall in love with the king.
Meanwhile, the story of the late crown princess started to spread again. Shin Won confronted Gwaeng Yi and asked how he knew about the assassins.
However, he didn't answer him, but indirectly warned him to prepare for the next attack. Chun Seok shared with Shin Won about the crown princess' ghost.
In the palace, the king heard an eerie noise and went to investigate. So Rang and Shin Won heard it too and ran to see it.
Lee Heon and everyone saw the crown princess. He was about to go after her when she disappeared into the lake, but So Rang stopped him.
