New year means a new set of K-dramas are about to make it on primetime starting this January. 

If 2022 gave us a number of noteworthy K-series, this 2023, SBS, KBS, MBC, and tvN are ready to make another great year introducing their upcoming projects. But before we name all, here are some of the much-awaited actors and actresses to appear on screens with their respective dramas.

'Brain Works'

CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa and Cha Tae Hyun made their early comeback on January 2 with this new medical-comedy series.

"Brain Works" is about Shin Ha Ru, a neuroscientist, and Geum Myung Se, a detective, who join forces to solve a criminal case involving a strange brain disease.

It airs every Monday and Tuesday on KBS.

'Payback'

"Parasite" actor Lee Sun Kyun and "Flower of Evil" actress Moon Chae Won are teaming up for the first time in this project. 

This crime-thriller drama features the revenge story of a money trader who refuses to stay silent about the evil deeds of higher-ranking officials. 

"Payback" premieres this January 6 on SBS and will run every Friday and Saturday.

'Agency'

Lee Bo Young is Go Ah In. The series tells the challenging journey of a woman who comes from an ordinary family and works hard to become the first female executive in her group and make a career beyond her first to the highest position.

"Agency" is slated to premiere on January 7 on JTBC at 9:30 p.m. (KST)

'Crash Course in Romance'

tvN introduces Jeon Do Yeon and Jung Kyung Ho as the newest love team on primetime. This drama tells the story of Nam Haeng Sun, who works as a female boss of a small side-dish shop, meets Choi Chi Yeol, the most famous instructor in a private university, which prepares students for competitive exams. 

This romance series begins airing on January 14.

'Season of Kkokdu'

The long-awaited team up of Im Soo Hyang and Kim Jung Hyun is finally happening through the fantasy-romance drama "Season of Kkokdu" also known as "Kokdu: Season of Deity." Viewers are expected to watch this series starting January 27 on MBC.

This upcoming drama is about a grim reaper named Kok Du, who visits the Earth every 99 years to punish humans for their evil deeds. He then meets the doctor with mysterious abilities named Han Gye Jeol, and starts working as a visiting doctor.
