Song Joong Ki’s ‘Reborn Rich’ Illegally Uploaded on Chinese Platform
The Song Joong Ki-led K-drama "Reborn Rich" is reportedly released illegally in China. In a report, the production company revealed a statement regarding the issue.
Did China Illegally Air Song Joong Ki's K-drama 'Reborn Rich'?
According to a media outlet, the revenge K-drama was illegally uploaded on Chinese OTT IQIYI. Due to this, the production company SLL tells TV Report that they will take action against unlawfully sharing "Reborn Rich."
In a statement, the production team says that they "agreed to take prompt action against the illegal video that is currently destroyed and uploaded later."
Moreover, the company also pointed out that the circulating video is not the whole show "but an illegal video edited and uploaded by an individual."
With Song Joong Ki's drama uploaded to China's OTT, it raised the expectation that the country might lift the Korean Wave ban. Unfortunately, it was an unauthorized upload.
To recall, the Chinese government has banned the inflow of content, such as Korean dramas and games, since 2017 during the height of the "Korean Wave."
"Reborn Rich" is under JTBC. The revenge drama is available through Viki, Viu, and now Netflix Korea and Disney+.

The 16-episode series is based on the web novel "The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate," which depicts the story of a man powered by vengeance after being killed by the employer and framed with embezzlement despite his loyalty and devotion to the family.
Interestingly, he was reborn as the third generation chaebol named Jin Do Joon, and the youngest grandson of Soonyang Group founder, Jin Yang Chul.

One of the most highly anticipated and among the most watched K-dramas of 2022, this is also Siong Joong Ki's K-drama comeback after the blockbuster series "Vincenzo" along with Jeon Yeo Been.
With "Reborn Rich" premiering on November 18, the JTBC series immediately garnered a double-digit rating on its third episode and maintain a perfect streak of soaring ratings till the finale episode.
Garnering a nationwide average rating of 26.9 percent for its 16th episode, netizens think that Song Joong Ki's drama deserves a second sequel.
Viewers wanted the top star to reprise his role as Jin Do Joon and for the drama to unravel more about his other character Yoon Hyun Woo.
Unfortunately, it is yet to be confirmed if the web novel-based series will return with a sequel.
As of this writing, officials kept tight-lipped about the viewers' speculations about the possibility of Song Joong Ki reprising his role and having "Reborn Rich" season 2.
Interestingly, while viewers look forward to the sequel, the actor is booked and busy this 2023 with a long list of upcoming movies.
From the much-awaited 'Bogotá: City of the Lost" to the noir drama "Hwaran" and the actor's new movie "Ro Ki Wan."
