THIS ‘Reborn Rich’ Cast is ‘Shocked’ by the Attention Received After Joining Song Joong Ki’s Drama
Besides the praises received by lead stars Song Joong Ki and Lee Sung Min, viewers also lauded the supporting actors of "Reborn Rich."
One cast member who got an overwhelming response from the public is Kim Hyun who played the role of Jin Yang Chul's wife.
In the drama, Soonyang Conglomerate founder Jin Yang Chul, played by Lee Sung Min, has a loving and doting wife, Lee Pil Ok.
Viewers then got to see how her character transformed in the latter part of the series.
Kim Hyun on Playing Soonyang Matriarch
According to an outlet, the 51-year-old actress spoke about her experience filming the series and getting much love for playing the family's matriarch.
For Kim Hyun, she has "never received so much attention while acting in any drama or movie before." Hence, she is "still pretty shocked" by the response she got while the drama was airing.

She made her acting debut in 2007 with a short film "Mi Ja's Beauty Parlor" while she had her first K-drama appearance in 2011 for the medical series "God's Quiz Season 2," headlined by Ryu Deok Hwan and Yoon Joo Hee.
Interestingly, she has appeared in tons of K-dramas prior to "Reborn Rich."
Kim Hyun played supporting roles in "Voice," "Mr. Sunshine," "Sweet Home Season 1" as one of the tenants, "Hospital Playlist Season 2," "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha," and her recent "Weak Hero Class 1" as a school principal.
The actress also mentioned the grueling process of filming her character.
Kim Hyun Reveals Having Permanent Wrinkles Because of Special Makeup in 'Reborn Rich'
Kim Hyun revealed that the production staff took more than 2 hours to finish her special makeup. Since she played Lee Pil Ok in her 50s and 70s, Kim Hyun had to wear prosthetics that partly had effects on her skin.
"When they applied glue to make wrinkles on my face, it left actual wrinkles on my face," she said. Although "it's upsetting" for some, she sees it as "a medal of honor" leaving it as it is.
In "Reborn Rich" Kim Hyun's character, Lee Pil Ok, left a mark after it was revealed that she was the person behind her husband's assassination. It was because she was against Jin Yang Chul's decision to announce their grandson Jin Do Joon as the successor of the conglomerate.
For her, it was right that one of her children should be the successor and not Jin Yang Chul's son from other woman.
However, the tables have turned after Jin Do Joon helped Lee Pil Ok escape the country after the prosecution was after the Soonyang matriarch.
Viewers were stunned by the emotional scene between Song Joong Ki and Kim Hyun.
