‘Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2’ Episode 1 Kicks Off With Promising Start

The Sorak family is back as "Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2" episode 1 features a new mission for Kim Hyang Gi, Kim Min Jae, and Kim Sang Kyung.

After months of waiting, finally, the medical rom-com series will entertain viewers with mind-boggling scenes in every episode.

Released on January 11, the medical K-drama premiered with a solid rating.

According to Neilsen Korea, "'Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2" episode 1 garnered an average nationwide rating of 3.7 percent, making it the highest show on its timeslot.

'Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2' Cast

Based on the novel of the same name, Kim Min Jae, Kim Hyang Gi, and Kim Sang Kyung headlines "Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 2."

It follows the story of a famous internal medicine doctor, named Yoo Se Poong, who got kicked out from the royal court after getting caught up in a conspiracy of killing the King.

Living in the small village of Gyesu, he meets his Sorak family including Kim Soo An, Yeon Bo Ra, Han Chang Min, and more.

Besides several familiar faces, "'Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2" also welcomed new cast members.

Kang Young Seok plays Royal Clinic's Physician Jeon Kang Il and Woo Da Vi as Lee Seo Yi, the King's sister and Se Poong's first love.

Airing every Wednesday and Thursday, "Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist 2" episode 2 will air on January 12 through tvN and Viu TV.

'Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2' Episode 1 Recap: Yoo Se Poong Accuses Royal Medical Office of Misdiagnoses

The second season starts with Yoo Se Poong returning to the palace after gaining the trust of the new King.

It comes after he proved that it was Counselor Cho who poisoned the King, causing his death.

Unfortunately, the former counselor died of suicide right before his trial. However, the new King is being hunted by the spirits of his former counselor while struggling to get the trust of his royal advisers.

In the first episode of the historical medical series, Yoo Se Poong and Kye Gi Han were summoned by the King after a pandemic occurred at the palace.

With the court maids being affected by the mysterious disease, others claimed that they saw ghosts before reaching their dead.

Due to this, Yoo Se Poong along with Gi Han investigate inside the palace and found out that it was not because of poisoning.

Yoo Se Poong urges the medical office to give herbs to the court maids to help them vomit and release the toxins in their bodies but they insist on not using their supply.

In addition, their investigation also concluded that the physicians at the royal medicine office misdiagnosed their patients which made Jeon Kang Il and their heads furious.

Yoo Se Poong Reunited with Lady Seo Eun Woo

The duo returned to the palace to get some supplies that would help treat the court lady and saw Seo Eun Woo.

He was surprised that she has returned after studying medicine. Now, she will be helping him and Kye Gi Han with their patients starting with the pandemic at the palace.

Seeing the situation, Eun Woo said that she has to see the ghost before conducting any conclusions. After telling this to Se Poong, they heard Princess Lee Seo Yi scream claiming that she saw one.

Seo Eun Woo followed the direction where the royal claimed she saw the ghost, but instead, she bumped into physician Jeon Kang Il.
