Park So Dam Details Aftermath After Recovering From Cancer Diagnosis
After her hiatus due to health issues, Park So Dam returns with a new movie "Phantom" and an upcoming K-drama project with Se In Guk.
Now that the actress is slowly returning to her entertainment activities, the "Parasite" star details her recovery after being diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer.
Park So Dam Gets Honest About Her Recovery From Cancer
As mentioned by outlets, the 31-year-old actress spoke about her experience undergoing papillary thyroid cancer surgery. She also shared her thoughts about her comeback movie "Phantom" with Honey Lee, Sol Kyung Gu, and "Squid Game" star Park Hae Soo.
During the interview, she revealed that her diagnosis came seven months after filming "Phantom." Years after her surgery, Park So Dam says that her health has "improved a lot.
However, there were concerns regarding her skin.
The actress experienced skin problems where she revealed that the condition "turned upside down because of hormonal imbalance."
Looking back on her health journey, Park So Dam shared that she often loses energy after a certain activity.
"I don't have as much stamina as before after doing the schedule," she said, but now, "thinking about this time last year, I'm happy every day."
In a previous interview with The Korean Times in January 2022, the 31-year-old actress said that she was "both shocked and scared," upon hearing the diagnosis.
Despite that, she had a realization that gave her a "look back" to take better care of her body to "work longer and be healthier in the future."
In 2021, Park So Dam's agency, ArtistCompany, announced that the actress will halt her activities in line with her then-new movie "Special Delivery" where she plays the lead star.
Her sudden hiatus was due to her health diagnosis after the label confirmed that she has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer.
Despite her disappointment that the actress wouldn't be able to meet fans during the promotional activities, she ensured to focus on her recovery to meet all her supporters with healthy status in the future.

The agency also extended its gratitude to fans and the "Special Delivery" cast and crew for pulling off an amazing movie amid the lead star's health condition.
"The company would like to once again thank all the people for showing support for 'Special Delivery' and actress Park So Dam, as well as the actors and crew of 'Special Delivery' overcoming this difficult time together," the agency said, as obtained by CNN.
Park So Dam Goes Emotional Because of Honey Lee
During the press conference of Phantom" Park So Dam shed tears after sharing her story with Honey Lee. She revealed that her co-star's voice "comforts" her, especially during at the most challenging phase of her life.
Praising Honey Lee, Park So Dam tells the media that she found a special person through her "Phantom" co-star.
"I felt like I had met a really good person at a time when I was very confused by myself. The energy I received from Lee throughout the filming was great," she said.
Interestingly, besides her new movie, Park So Dam will also be returning to the small screen with an upcoming drama "Death's Game" with Seo In Guk.
