Cha Joo Young Dishes Thoughts on 'The Glory' Role

In 2022, Cha Joo Young starred in Song Hye Kyo's revenge drama "The Glory," a drama that tells the story of a woman who seeks vengeance from her perpetrators in the past.

Cha Joo Young takes on the role of Choi Hye Jeong, one of Song Hye Kyo's perpetrators. In an interview with Allure Korea, the actress described her character as "a person who seeks validation from her well-off friends."
What makes "The Glory" a memorable drama for the actress is how she's very connected to her character. According to Cha Joo Young, she was involved in perfecting her role from beginning to end.
"I paid attention to the costumes and hairstyles for every scene I had in the drama," Cha Joo Young stated. "I want to look neat and beautiful, especially since my character is a stewardess."
Apart from Song Hye Kyo and Lim Ji Yeon, Cha Joo Young also experienced immense success after appearing in the series. After almost a decade, she's finally received the global acclaim she longed for a long time.
Cha Joo Young Talks About Racy Scene in 'The Glory'
Besides the bullying scenes that really left a mark on the viewers, one of the episodes that stuck to the public was when Cha Joo Young flaunted her well-proportioned body on screen.
While she paraded her body in stunning dresses in the series, one scene from the drama received great response.
In the final episode of Part 1 of "The Glory," Cha Joo Young's chest was exposed when Kim Hieora pulled her by the hair, which caused her to fall to the ground.
Since she was wearing a sweetheart neckline dress, she showed too much skin. One fan commented on Cha Joo Young's body, saying, "For a 32-year-old, she has such a great body."

In her interview with Allure Korea, Cha Joo Young revealed that the dress she wore during the said scene was an alternative wardrobe.
"I was originally going to wear a less revealing Chanel dress," Cha Joo Young shared. "However, director Ahn Gil Ho wanted me to wear the dress in the drama even when I didn't want to."
During the filming, Cha Joo Young feared that she would look ugly on screen if she wore the suggested dress. Little did she know that it would create commotion in the online Hallyu community.
When asked how she manages to keep her figure, Cha Joo Young stated that she just maintains how she looks and doesn't stress herself with dieting and working out.
