‘The Heavenly Idol’ Episode 1: Kim Min Gyu Transforms Into Handsome Idol

Kim Min Gyu returns to the small screen as a high priest-turned-rookie idol in tvN's romantic comedy series "The Heavenly Idol"!

The first episode of the drama brought laughter and excitement to the viewers. If you missed it, here's what went down in the pilot!

'The Heavenly Idol' Episode 1: Pontifex Lembrary's Enigmatic Life

The new drama begins with Pontifex Lembrary, a kid walking to church. Unfortunately, the priest sees he is the descendant of Evil One and a follower of Lord Redlin.

To save the kid, the priest chants prayers to his ears but Lord Redlin shows up, revealing that the kid is possessed by dark alchemy.

Thankfully, it's all just a dream. Pontifex Lembrary (Kim Min Gyu) awakens after some people call him Woo Yeon Woo.

Pontifex Lembrary Becoes Idol Woo Yeon Woo

Everything becomes hazy as someone drags him to a room to get his hair and makeup done. To his surprise and confusion, he screams at everyone else in the room.

Pontifex Lembrary is told that he's an idol named Woo Yeon Woo and he's about to enter the stage for their comeback show. 

He then drops the bomb that he can't dance, which causes him to be reprimanded by the management after the event.

Kim Dal (Go Bo Gyeol) arrives at the parking lot, witnessing how Woo Yeon Woo runs away. Her colleague orders her to bring the confused idol to the hospital and reminds her that it's her job to do as a road manager.

At the hospital, Woo Yeon Woo cuts his palm with a shard of glass. Luckily, he's still able to use his holy power in spite of not being in his Pontifex Lembrary body.

The doctor doesn't find anything wrong with Woo Yeon Woo and sends him home. At their dorm, he sleeps on the form as he refuses to sleep with his group members, giving his managers another headache.

Kim Dal Learns About Woo Yeon Woo's Secret

Im Sun Ja (Ye Ji Won), the CEO of their company, calls for an urgent meeting, revealing his plans to disband Wild Animal.

But before coming to an agreement, the secretary breaks into the meeting and shares that Woo Yeon Woo's video received two million views; a quite huge achievement for the unknown group.

Elsewhere, Kim Dal celebrates with a dance. She thinks that Woo Yeon Woo is super handsome even though weird. She also believes that Wild Animal will be big soon.

At the end of the episode, Pontifex Lembrary, who is in the body of Woo Yeon Woo, realizes that the Evil One returned.

While hunting down the dark force, Kim Dal follows and guards him. Because the Devil bowed to the idol, she realizes that Woo Yeon Woo is not the real Woo Yeon Woo.
