The drama marks the actress' first acting project this 2023, following "One the Woman," which aired in 2021.

"Flowers that Bloom at Night" is also Lee Honey's first drama after giving birth to her daughter in June 2022.

Lee Honey Headlines Upcoming MBC Historical Drama

Multi-awarded actress Lee Honey is coming back to the small screen with a new period drama!

On Tuesday, February 21, MBC's forthcoming series "Flowers that Bloom at Night" (literal title) confirmed that Lee Honey will headline the work with her newest dual character role.

The drama tells the comedic yet tragic double life of a widow who can pass through the present and the afterlife.

In the series, Lee Honey transforms into Jo Yeo Hwa, a widow from a noble family who lives a spectacular double life without anyone knowing.

When she meets the man of her dreams, everything changes. This confuses her whether to continue living a double life or come clean for love.

Lee Honey has shown off her acting skills through her previous works "The Fiery Priest," "One the Woman," "Extreme Job," and more. With this, the actress is expected to deliver a never-before-seen charm to entertain the viewers with her colorful acting skills.

'Flowers that Bloom at Night' Production Details & More

The upcoming MBC drama "Flowers that Bloom at Night" will be produced by director Jang Tae Yoo, the creator of hit dramas "My Love from the Star" and "Lovers of the Red Sky."

Details regarding its final lineup hasn't been disclosed yet. With this, the production of the series will only be announced once the broadcast network finalized its important details.

"Flowers that Bloom at Night" is expected to begin its filming in the second half of the year, subsequently followed by its premiere.

Lee Honey's 'Phantom' & Upcoming Works

"Flowers that Bloom at Night" marks the actress' comeback to the limelight after tying the knot with her non-celebrity husband in December 2021.

Lee Honey gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in June 2022. Earlier this 2023, she greeted the viewers with her appearance in the press conference for her film "Phantom."

The espionage film was filmed in 2021 and it tells the story of South Korean citizens' hardships and struggles under the Japanese colonization era in the 1930s.

"Phantom" also stars Sol Kyung Gu, Park So Dam, Park Hae Soo and more. As of February 21, the film recorded a total of 700,000 admissions with a gross of over 5.2 million USD, becoming the second highest grossing film of 2023
