2. He made his debut with a BL drama.

Chu Young Woo introduced himself to the public with a bang! The actor landed the main role in his debut project "You Make Me Dance"!

It's a boys' love drama where he plays the role of a contemporary dancer who falls in love with a pianist. Thanks to his thought-evoking performance, doors of opportunities opened for him.

After his debut, he starred in dramas "Police University," "School 2021" and "Once Upon a Small Town" in the following year.

3. Chu Young Woo names Red Velvet Joy as his best friend.

In 2022, Chu Young Woo met Red Velvet Joy for the first time when they paired up in the small town romance drama "Once Upon a Small Town."

Chu Young Woo is three years younger than the idol-actress and despite that, the two became close after chatting and bickering during filming breaks.

In an interview with Star 1 magazine, he mentioned Red Velvet Joy as his older sister, best friend and acting mentor, saying that she helped him a lot when he's struggling with his lines or just life in general.

Even after the drama concluded, the two would still interact through their personal Instagram accounts.

4. He's a dedicated actor.

For his role as a veterinarian in "Once Upon a Small Town," Chu Young Woo did his research and visited an animal farm himself.

He dealt with goats, pigs, cows and other different animals to allow himself to adapt to his role. Though it was difficult at first, Chu Young Woo described the drama as "rewarding."

Chu Young Woo made his fans laugh when he revealed that he was once stepped on by a cow while studying about them.

5. Chu Young Woo received high praises in 2021.

Thanks to his unstoppable charisma and dedication, Chu Young Woo was nominated twice for the same award in 2021.

The rookie actor received two nods for Best New Actor for his work in "Police University" and "School 2021," proving his excellence.
