Despite having the most amazing skills in acting, nothing will happen if paired with poorly written dramas and badly produced work.

It is difficult to gain the public's attention when all other factors fail as they are all crucial in creating a box office masterpiece that will leave the viewers wanting for more.

Thankfully, these five South Korean actors were able to carve their name in the Hallyu scene with their one hit drama.

Kim Da Mi

Kim Da Mi instantly gained popularity after her debut in 2018 with the blockbuster film "The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion."

Unbeknownst to many, the actress landed the role after overcoming a competition rate of 500:1, which was a tight call for aspiring stars.

In the same year, Kim Da Mi bagged more than 14 awards including the Best New Actress at the Buil Film Awards, Blue Dragon Film Awards and more.

She has also graced the small screen with top notch works like "Itaewon Class" and "Our Beloved Summer."

Kim Hye Yoon

Did you know that Kim HYe Yoon has appeared in more than 60 supporting roles since she made her debut in 2013?

She starred in works including "I Can Hear Your Voice," "Doctors," "The Legend of the Blue Sea" and more. It wasn't until 2018 that she left a strong impression on the public when she was cast as Kang Ye Seo in the worldwide box office series "SKY Castle."

Kim Hye Yoon won against a 200:1 competition rate, proving her versatility and gripping acting chops.

Kim Nam Gil

Kim Nam Gil made his debut in 2003 as Lee Han, and appeared as a supporting actor in dramas "My Lovely Sam Soon" and "Be Strong, Geum Soon."

In 2008, the actor decided to use his real name, Kim Nam Gil, and gained popularity in an instant. He starred in classic dramas "Public Enemy Returns," "Queen Seondeok" and more.

The film opened many doors for Kim Tae Ri, especially when she took home various awards for her performance.

Kim Tae Ri starred in A-graded dramas "Mr. Sunshine" and "Twenty Five, Twenty One." In spite of her limited filmography, all of her works received critical acclaim which makes her one of the most well-loved stars today.

Jung So Min

After giving up her dream to become a ballet dancer, Jung So Min took the risk in the acting scene. Two years after her debut, she received her first ever major acting drama "Playful Kiss," which is now the popular classic rom-com among teen viewers.

Since then, her desk is filled with various drama offers that included the top notch works "Because This Is My First Life," "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes," "Alchemy of Souls" and more.
