1. Jeon Do Yeon is dubbed as 'Queen of Tears.'

Before venturing into the action genre, Jeon Do Yeon cemented her name in the industry with the number of melodramas she has starred in.

Since 1990, she has appeared in more than 30 heart-wrenching works which earned her the title "Queen of Tears."

Jeon Do Yeon revealed that she felt great about the title because it meant that her performances are received with positive feelings by the viewers.

2. She's a theater actress.

Jeon Do Yeon doesn't thrive on the silver screen and terrestrial television! Besides K-Drama series and films, the actress also dominated the theater stage. She has starred in two plays entitled "Educating Rita" and "The Queen of Opera Tears."

There's no news about a new play for the actress but Jeon Do Yeon is open to work on the live stage once again.

3. Jeon Do Yeon is the first South Korean judge at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2007, Jeon Do Yeon wowed the critics at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance in "Secret Sunshine."

4. She received honors from the French government.

In 2009, the French government awarded the "Kill Bok Soon" star with the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres medal for her great contributions to the arts and letters not only in France but also the world.

J.K. Rowling, Leonardo DiCaprio and fellow South Korean star Lee Byung Hun are among the notable honorees of the most coveted award.

5. Jeon Do Yeon declined love calls from Hollywood.

After being named as Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival, Jeon Do Yeon received various offers from Hollywood.

She was casted to star "Terminator" film series but she politely declined. Jeon Do Yeon didn't want to overwhelm herself with such a great leap, especially with the cultural and language differences.
