‘Taxi Driver 2’ Episode 16 Marks All-Time High Viewership + Lee Je Hoon Meets Special Client

"Taxi Driver 2" episode 16 delivered a strong finale as Lee Je Hoon and the Rainbow Taxi team meet a special client.

In addition, the last episode also featured familiar faces.

'Taxi Driver 2' Episode 16 Viewership

Based on the webtoon "The Deluxe Taxi," Kim Do Gi, played by Lee Je Hoon, joined a secret organization, created by Chairman Jung (Kim Eui Sung). Their mission is to protect the victims and avenge them from their perpetrators.

According to a report by Nielsen Korea, the finale recorded an average nationwide rating of 21.0 percent.

Interestingly, "Taxi Driver 2" Episode 16 set a new all-time high throughout the season run. Lee Je Hoon's drama also achieved the highest rating for a miniseries this 2023.

'Taxi Driver 2' Episode 16 Recap

The final episode began with the Bishop giving On Ha Joon his punishment for losing against Kim Do Gi. He was put inside the cell beside Kim Do Gi, who was detained as instructed by the Bishop.

However, Chairman Jung, who escaped from the Black Sun headquarters, received evidence regarding On Ha Joon's past.

Warning Ahn Eun Jin and the rest of the team regarding his plan, he visited On Ha Joon at the prison and revealed to him the truth about his childhood.

In "Taxi Driver 2" episode 16, he found out that he was not abandoned by his parents, like what the Bishop told him. Chairman Jung handed him leaflets showing how his parents tried to find him through the years until he was 19.

Upon seeing the photo, On Ha Joon found out that the man he previously killed was his father. The scene showed a flashback of On Ha Joon's father tracing the possible location of his child. Scared that he might find the truth, he ordered On Ha Joon to kill the person but didn't say who he was.

Fast forward to today, On Ha Joon felt guilty and regretted his decision. With this, he asked Kim Do Gi for help and if he would take a client like him.

In the last episode, it featured an intense fight between Mr. On and Kim Do Gi while the Bishop was watching them. With Kim Do Gi almost beating On Ha Joon, the bishop got near them as he held a gun.

On the other hand, On Ha Joon asked Kim Do Gi if his life would be different if he met them sooner. He also told him that he wanted to end it and eventually pushed the bishop to the building, leaving the two dead.

In the last scene, Kim Do Gi returned to the military, hinting at a special case. It also featured Moon Chae Won, who knew Kim Do Gi from the past.

The last scene suggested that the Rainbow Taxi team would continue with another mission.
