1. Uhm Jung Hwa began her career as a performer.
Before dominating the acting scene, Uhm Jung Hwa began her career as a singer. She ruled the '90s with her smash hit songs "Sad Expectation," "Rose of Betrayal" and "Tell Me," among others.
She also released "D.I.S.C.O." with BIGBANG's T.O.P., which is one of her most popular songs. In 2017, Uhm Jung Hwa came back with the album "The Cloud Dream of the Nine."
2. She's a member of Refund Sisters.
Uhm Jung Hwa joined forces with her besties Lee Hyori, Jessi and MAMAMOO Hwasa in 2020, forming the popular all-female group Refund Sisters.
They made their debut with the digital single "Don't Touch Me" that topped the Gaon charts for weeks.
Fun fact, the singer-actress wore an outfit in the music video that paid homage to her "Eye" performance in the early 2010s.
3. Uhm Jung Hwa is a cancer survivor.
In 2010, Uhm Jung Hwa was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Thankfully, her surgery went well and beat the disease.
However, it permanently damaged some of her nerves making her unable to talk, let alone sing. This made Uhm Jung Hwa extremely insecure but through therapy, she has bravely overcome it.
4. She has her own lingerie line.
Being a performer, the love for fashion comes from within. In 2007, Uhm Jung Hwa launched her own lingerie line with 70 online and offline stores-called Zhum and Corner Suite-scattered in South Korea and New York.
Uhm Jung Hwa, who's a sultry and sensual woman herself, aims to make women feel ultra feminine while keeping their sophistication and elegance.

5. Uhm Jung Hwa has a younger brother in the industry.
Uhm Tae Woong, who appeared in the series "Resurrection" and "The Devil," is Uhm Jung Hwa's younger brother.
Unfortunately, he didn't succeed in making a name for himself like his older sister. In 2013, Uhm Tae Woong married professional ballet dancer Yoon Hye Jin.
The couple was blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Uhm Ji On in the same year.
