'Doctor Cha' Enters Netflix's Top 10 Worldwide
Uhm Jung Hwa's medical comedy drama "Doctor Cha" is without a doubt the hottest work in the Hallyu scene today!
Following the complex life of a housewife-turned-resident doctor, "Doctor Cha" hooked the attention of viewers not only in South Korea but also in other foreign countries.
Though it only received an average rating of 5% during its pilot week, Uhm Jung Hwa's drama saw a significant rise in the following weeks, leaving a mark in the Hallyu scene.
The latest episode of the series, which was released on May 7, recorded an impressive score of 16.2% which also marks the drama's highest rating yet.
"Doctor Cha" also took the fifth highest rating in the history of JTBC, following blockbuster hits "Reborn Rich," "Itaewon Class," "The World of the Married" and "SKY Castle."
Ahead of the release of its second half, "Doctor Cha" achieved a new milestone as it entered Netflix's Global Top 10 in more than 17 countries.
According to FlixPatrol, the drama's popularity incrementally increased every week, and has now landed in the Top 10 chart for non-English releases in South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Malaysia.

With amazing reviews from fans and critics around the globe, "Doctor Cha" is expected to attract more viewers until the end. Moreover, "Doctor Cha" airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC and Netflix!
'Doctor Cha' Receives Flak For Misinformation
Not all reviews were positive as "Doctor Cha" experiences backlash for airing a sensitive topic in its recently released episode.
On May 6, the medical series focused on Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammation which occurs in the digestive system from the mouth to the anus.
In the drama, the Crohn's disease patient has lost his will to live after his relatives complained about his ailment. A family member also berated him for his disease, which they claimed to be hereditary.

However, this wasn't the case as Crohn's disease can't be passed down from generations to generations. This topic angered the families of patients who actually suffer from the illness.
A total of 47 complainants expressed their distaste towards the network, and demanded a public apology from "Doctor Cha" production team.
One parent shared that their son who suffers from Crohn's disease is being teased by his peers at school after "Doctor Cha" aired its seventh episode.
The complainants demand to cancel the rerun. If the producers don't reedit the episode and issue an apology, a petition to withdraw the series will be issued to broadcast stations.
