After months of waiting, Netflix unveils the highly-anticipated dystopian K-drama "Black Knight," starring Kim Woo Bin.

Just days after the series premiered, the 6-episode K-drama scored achievements that only proved the possibility of the show reigning in the global rankings.

Kim Woo Bin's 'Black Knight' Lands 2nd in Netflix's Top 10 TV Show

According to streaming data aggregator platform Flix Patrol, "Black Knight'' is the second most-watched TV show on Netflix as of its May 14 rankings.

It was after the series garnered 753 points and was only behind by a few numbers from the historical series "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," which topped the chart with 837 points.

Besides ranking second in Netflix's top TV shows, "Black Knight ' lands as the most watched series in nine countries. It includes Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and more.

Meanwhile, Kim Woo Bin's new drama also entered the top 10 TV shows in Argentina, Austria, Mexico, Bahrain, Switzerland, Bahrain, Belgium, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, and more.

Why 'Black Knight' is Worth the Hype

"Black Knight," which made its debut on May 12, is the newest dystopian K-drama that depicts the story of Earth after a comet accidentally hits the planet, making it lose a large percentage of the planet's oxygen.

Set in the year 2071, it has been 40 years since the catastrophic incident almost wiped out half of the population. With this, oxygen tanks become one of the essential part of humans to survive.

Interestingly, this is where the duties and responsibilities of delivery men take place.

Delivery men, who are known by their codes, need to have a skill set and be able to defend the parcels from rebellious refugees who try to steal supplies.

On the other hand, 5-8, played by Kim Woo Bin, is a legendary delivery man who is known for his combat skills.

Joining the Hallyu star in "Black Knight" is Song Seung Heon as Ryu Seok, the Cheonmyeong Group heir and the CEO of the conglomerate.

Meanwhile, Esom plays Major Jung Seol Ah of the Defense Intelligence Command, who saves refugee Sa Wol, played by Kang Yoo Seok, from the attack.

Interestingly, "Black Knight" also boasts a roster of talented actors, including Kim Eui Sung and Bae Yoo Ram from "Taxi Driver," and Jin Kyung from "Dr. Romantic 3."

Will Netflix Release 'Black Knight' Season 2?

With the public's overwhelming response to the series, viewers were hopeful that the series would get the green light from Netflix.

However, it is too early to tell if "Black Knight" season 2 is possible since the streaming giant needs to gauge analytics related to the series, including the weekly and hourly viewing data, as well as the percentage of subscribers, and more.
