'My Liberation Notes' Star Lee El Exposes Harsh Reality She Experienced During Rookie Days

In JTBC's "Knowing Brothers" episode 384, which aired on May 20, veteran actresses Jin Seo Yeon, Cha Ye Ryun, Park Hyo Joon, and Lee El made their guest appearances. They are the lead stars of ENA channel's new drama "Happiness Battle."

In the middle of the show, the guests shared their personal stories.

When it was Lee El's turn, the "My Liberation Notes" actress shared a shocking story from her rookie days. She said, "I am not just a beauty, but when I went to an audition, someone from the casting team said that they didn't know where to put me."

That staff member who was talking to her started making nasty remarks, "You should go and shoot an erotic thriller or something."

After hearing her stories, the cast members on the set could not hide their shock. Lee El confessed that it hurt a little before since she was still starting in the industry.

However, those experiences helped her aim for a niche market. She commented that those people who say such things don't go well in life.

Lee El made her acting debut in 2009. In fact, as of this writing, she already has more than twenty dramas and more than a dozen of movies under her belt.

She is known for her roles in "Black," "Goblin," "It's Okay, That's Love," "Inside Men," "Love and Leashes," "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations," and more.

The actress made a magnificent performance in JTBC's hit drama "My Liberation Notes," where she worked with Kim Ji Won, Lee Min Ki, and Son Seok Ku.

Meanwhile, Lee El is expected to have a back-to-back drama comeback this 2023. She will headline the upcoming ENA Channel series "Happiness Battle," which follows the story of 3 mothers, who come from different backgrounds, compete fiercely on social media, and are happier.

Aside from it, the actress is joining the star-studded cast of the sci-fi romance drama "When the Stars Gossip" also known as "Asks the Stars." She will share the frame with Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Min Ho, and Oh Jung Se. The long-awaited series is set to premiere in the second half of 2023.
