Following rumors regarding Song Joong Ki's wife Katy Louise Saunders joining him at Cannes Film Festival 2023, the South Korean heartthrob and "Hopeless" star went solo and stepped at the famous red carpet for the first time.

Looking dapper in his sleek suit, the 37-year-old actor graced the red carpet, along with his "Hopeless" co-stars BIBI, Hong Sa Bin, and director Kim Chang Hoon.
In addition, joining them at the spectacular event were production company Mani Pictures CEO Han Jae Deok, and Hwang Ki Yong, the co-producer and CEO of Song Joong Ki's agency, HighZium Studio.
According to a media outlet, the "Hopeless" team was welcomed by a cheering crowd, showing their support for the top star and the rest of the cast.
As for Song Joong Ki's wife, who was initially scheduled to join the actor on the red carpet, Katy Louise Saunders was unable to attend due to health concerns.
As mentioned by the same outlet, the British actress is in full-term pregnancy; hence, her absence at the event.

In his 15-year career, this was the first time that Song Joong Ki participated in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for his movie "Hopeless." The movie got invited to the Notable Gaze section, a non-competition section.

Interestingly, during the casting stage, it was confirmed that Song Joong Ki agreed to star in the upcoming noir movie with "no guarantee," which means that he decided not to receive payment for his appearance.
According to a news portal, the top star believes in and supports the "artistic quality" of the project.
On the other hand, "Hopeless" will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2023 but officials are yet to confirmed the movies' debut in theathers.
Song Jong Ki's new movie, depicts the story of teenage boy named Yeon Gyu, played by Hong Sa Bin, whose goal is to escape his hellish life. However, he crosses paths with Chi Geon, portrayed by Song Joong Ki.
Unfortunately, the duo gets caught up in a tricky situation, forcing them to team up against the dangerous world.

After confirming his relationship with the British actress Katy Louise Saunders and announcing bombshell news regarding their marriage and her pregnancy, the media had often spotted the duo together, whether the actor was filming a project overseas or not.
As for Song Joong Ki's Cannes Film Festival debut, local media outlet, YTN, revealed photos of the couple at an interview site in a hotel located in Cannes, France ahead of "Hopeless" official screening.
