Even after it ended, the Cha Jung Suk fever is still on! Here are four reasons why you should check "Doctor Cha" out!

1. A Story Like No Other

"Doctor Cha" follows the life of Cha Jung Suk, played by Uhm Jung Hwa, a housewife who gave up on her dreams of becoming a doctor.

Due to an unforeseen incident that opened her eyes to her reality, she sets on a journey of becoming a family medicine resident after 20 years of not practicing in the field.

The work exudes determination and courage, which are great influences to every viewer. It also gives the public the positive mindset that one is never too old to achieve their life-long goals.

2. Great Casting & Synergy

The main ensemble of the work stars Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, Myung Se Bin and Min Woo Hyuk; actors with great credibility and drama resume.

Uhm Jung Hwa is an ultimate performer who has been on both the idol and acting stages. Kim Byung Chul also appeared in high scale works "SKY Castle" and "Goblin."

Meanwhile, Myung Se Bin is a seasoned star whose name is cemented in the hall of fame and Min Woo Hyuk is a theater genius.

The quartet delivered a beautifully written drama with their incredible chemistry as co-stars, which was well-received by the fans.

3. Complex Characters & Amazing Development Arcs

One factor that also hooked the viewers is the romantic tryst of Cha Jung Suk's son and his girlfriend who are both doctors in the same hospital.

Seo Jung Min and Jeon So Ra, played by Song Ji Ho and Jo Ah Ram, respectively, painted weekend nights with their cat-and-dog relationship that appealed to the public.

While the other is sweet, the other is stoic. However, "Doctor Cha" won the public's heart when Jeon So Ra lent her shoulder for Cha Jung Suk to cry on, hinting at her character development.

4. A Woman's Independence

At the end of the episode, Cha Jung Suk lives her life on her own, free from stress and the shackles of a painful, sad and unfulfilling marriage.

She sets on a brand new journey where she becomes a medical volunteer who visits far-flung areas, and a family medicine specialist who has a cafe and clinic for her patients to hang out.

"Doctor Cha" delivers the essential message that a woman doesn't need a man to succeed but perseverance and dedication.
