‘DP 2’ Drops First Trailer + Will Jung Hae In, Goo Kyo Hwan Change the System?

Netflix continues to entice viewers with updates after unveiling the first trailer of "D.P. 2," starring Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan.

The much-awaited sequel hints at intense action and drama scenes, featuring a slew of high-caliber actors.

First Look at 'D.P. 2' Trailer

On June 27, Netflix dropped the show's first trailer, hinting at the challenging mission of the beloved duo Han Hyo Yul and Ahn Joon Ho, played by Goo Kyo Hwan and Jung Hae In.

The teaser illustrates the unchanging reality and never-ending cycle in the military.

In a short clip, Moon Sang Hoon's character, Kim Ru Ri, suffered from harassment and brutal violence inside the military.

"Nothing has changed here. Not one thing," as mentioned through a voiceover, followed by a scene where Ru Ri opened fire on his fellow soldiers.

The next scene is followed by Ahn Joon Ho, a member of the deserter pursuit, who aims to bring the soldiers back safely.

The "D.P. 2" trailer also showcased a glimpse of a series of remarkable stories between the deserters, their families, the soldiers, and the higher ups.

Over social media, fans expressed how excited they are to see the returning and new cast members.

In addition, viewers also pointed out how the show maintained its stance against bullying.

What to Expect in 'D.P. 2'

After Netflix confifmed "D.P. 2," viewers are looking forward to seeing the tandem of corporal Han Ho Yul and private soldier Ahn Joon Ho.

After the successful first season, the upcoming sequel introduces additional characters who will be joining the series. This includes Ji Jin Hee as army headquarters chief legal officer Goo Ja Woon, while Kim Ji Hyun will be playing Lieutenant Colonel Seo Eun from the Ministry of National Defense Prosecutor's Office.

Adding to the list of new cast members is Choi Hyun Wook as one of the rookie soldiers named Shin Ah Wi.

From new characters, season 2 also featured the original cast. Besides Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun will return as Sergeant Park Beom Gu, and Son Seok Ku as Lieutenant Lim Ji Seop.

As mentioned by a media outlet, Jung Hae In previously hinted that "D.P." season 2 will be a continuation of the first season.

"There are still unfinished stories and parts that need to be resolved, so viewers will be able to see a more dense and deeper story," the actor shared.

On the other hand, Director Han Jun Hee, spoke about his affection for the soon-to-be released sequel.

Instead of changing the plot from the previous season, they highlighted that "each character had a direction they wanted to go, and we tried to follow that direction well."

"D.P." season 2 is set to premiere on July 28, with all six episodes airing exclusively on Netflix.
