'Revenant' Episode 5: Goo San Young Discovers Truth About Her Father

Amidst the new discovery about Goo San Young's (Kim Tae Ri) birth, Yeom Hae Sang (Oh Jung Se) learns that Jangseungs are wooden signs that used to mark destinations to travelers.

However, a lady from the village used them to summon wandering ghosts in order to reunite with her deceased daughter.

Meanwhile, Goo San Young discovers that the curse was passed on her due to her father's sudden demise. She also sees how an evil spirit takes over his dead father's body, making her pass out.

At the hospital, Goo San Young confronts her mother. It's then revealed that her unborn sister was killed by an evil spirit due to her connection with Goo Kang Mo (Jin Seon Kyu).

Her mother then cuts ties with her husband and raises Goo San Young on her own not until her daughter inherits his late father's curse.

Goo San Young's Realization

Elsewhere, detectives Lee Hong Sae (Hong Kyung) and Seo Mun Chun (Kim Won Hae) prove that the suicide cases are connected with Goo Kang Mo.

The burned marks in the deceased victims' wrists were actually the evil spirits' hand prints. Goo San Young visits Yeom Hae Sang and reveals that Jangjin has a tradition in sacrificing a family's second child to avoid any calamity and disaster.

She believes that the evil spirit that currently possesses her is a child who was unwillingly sacrificed by her parents before.

After their meeting, Goo San Young also discovers that Yeom Hae Sang's roommate Kim Woo Jin (Kim Shin Bi) is also a dead spirit who's after her youth. Kim Woo Jin screams at her and says that Yeom Hae Sang is the reason behind his current state.

An Addition To Goo San Young's Kill Count

Goo San Young and Baek Se Mi (Yang Hye Ji), her best friend, attend a celebration. Unfortunately, she gets possessed at the reception and kills a famous influencer.

Because she is possessed, Goo San Young behaves differently even with her best friend. After she comes back to her senses, she runs away from the celebration.

Unbeknownst to her, Lee Hong Sae follows her. Goo San Young reaches the bridge and begs the evil spirit to stop coming for her.

Goo San Young Begs Spirits To Stop

At the end of the episode, Yeom Hae Sang visits Goo San Young's grandmother's place and looks for a spot where a rope is tied.

He finds an object that was buried in the dirt. At the same time he retrieves the item, the demon that possesses Goo San Young whispers to her ears, saying that she "found it," leaving her confused.
