‘DP’ Season 2 Episodes 1–3: Jung Hae In, Goo Kyo Hwan Continue to Face the Dark Reality of Military Force

The beloved duo, Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan returns as "D.P." season 2 showcases more drama featuring the dark side of the military. 

Officially premiering on July 28, Netflix dropped the 6-part episode K-drama tells the journey of Private Ahn Jun Ho (Jung Hae In) and his teammate Han Hyo Yul on a mission to continue hunting down deserters.

As the duo, known as the D.P. team, went after soldiers who had escaped from the military service; they were intrigued by the devasting stories that pushed these individuals to their limits. 

D.P. Episode 1 Recap

The episode began in the present time, following Cho Suk Bong's shocking incident featured in season 1.

In "D.P." season 2, episode 1, Park Bum Gu and Captain Im Ji Sup faced consequences. Sergeant Park Bum Gu is in a disciplinary period, while Captain Im was transferred from the unit.

However, the second featured another shocking incident that shook the military and the higher-ups.

It was after Private Kim Ru Ri, whom Han Yul and Park Bum Gu had previously met, suffered intense military brutality, causing him to retaliate and open fire at his colleagues. 

With this, Private Ahn Jun Ho was given a new partner to work with on the case.

Surprisingly, it was his OG buddy, Han Ho Yul, who has been spending time at the hospital due to PTSD. 

Unfortunately, he is still coping with the effects of the Suk Bung case, especially his mental state.

However, upon seeing Ru Ri, whom everyone deemed to be the bad guy, Ho Han Yul felt like he had to step up and help the poor soldier. 

'D.P Season 2' Episode 2 Recap

At this point, Captain Im and Sergeant Park Bum Goo are doing all they can to save Ru Ri. 

That is because Lieutenant Colonel Seo Eun and the rest of the officers at the head quarters see Ru Ri not as a victim but as a threat. To prevent any violent actions, they asked the D.P. team to step in.

The only thing that Han Ho Yul, who now serves as a sergeant, can do is livestream the incident to prevent the military from firing at Ru Ri. 

They were able to save him thanks to his mother, who stepped  in and stood beside Ru Ri. 

At this point, they wanted Ru Ri to have a fair trial and expose the situation inside the military. 

D.P. Season 2 Episode 3

Just when Han Hyo Yul and Ahn Jun Ho thought that everything would be smooth sailing, they got intel that a deserter, Jung Sung Min left his post and went into hiding. 

During the operation, Hyo Yul was able to locate Jang Sung Min but was stabbed by the deserter. 

At this point, the story revealed that he was bullied inside the military for being queer.

Although he continued to work as a drag queen in various clubs, he sought help to leave the country.

With a new name under Jang Nina, he tried to leave the country but had problems with his passport.

Scared that he would be sent to the military again, he fled but was found lifeless by the D.P. team.
