‘My Dearest’ Episode 5: Namgoong Min Promises to Find Ahn Eun Jin + Rating Soars to All-Time High
"My Dearest" episode 5 delivered another round of showstopping scenes as Namgoong Min flaunted his combat skills. Meanwhile, Ahn Eun Jin is slowly warming up to the mysterious warrior.
As the MBC historical K-drama reached its second half, the weekend series showed no signs of slowing down in terms of viewership ratings.
'My Dearest' Episode 5 Viewership
In a report, Nielsen Korea recorded a new achievement for "My Dearest" viewership. After a continued increase in past episodes, the August 18 broadcast recorded an average nationwide rating of 8.4 percent.
Interestingly, "My Dearest" episode 5 marks a significant increase in rating from the previous episode with only 3.2 percent. This only proves that more viewers are getting hooked on Namgoong Min's return to period drama and this team-up with Ahn Eun Jin.
On the other hand, viewers could catch the latest episode of "My Dearest" through MBC for local viewers and via Viki and Kocowa for global audience.
'My Dearest' Episode 5 Recap
The previous episode left viewers with a cliffhanger about Yoo Gil Chae's unexpected reunion with Lee Jang Hyun.
After almost getting kidnapped by the intruders under the Qing Army, Gil Chae, Lady Kyung Eun Ae, and the others were saved by Lee Jang Hyun's group.

In "My Dearest," episode 5, Gil Chae unconsciously called Jang Hyun her husband after warning him of the sudden attack.
At this point, Yoo Gil Chae continues to disregard her true feelings for him. As for Lee Jang Hyun, he is confused if Gil Chae really meant her action.
On the other hand, as Jang Hyun made sure that Gil Chae and the rest were settled down along with the others, they continued with their journey; however, on their expedition, they accidentally met Nam Yeon Jun and the few survivors.
Here, he has decided to join them on their mission, but his mindset is not to save the King of Joseon but to protect Yeon Jun for Gil Chae and Eun Ae.
After a successful battle, Jang Hyun heads to the King of Joseon along with Yeon Jun and his eunich.
His majesty was thankful for survivng the battle and taking down a group of intruders; unfortunately, that is not the case with the Crown Prince, who seemed disappointed to know that Jang Hyun led the mission.
As the King announced that the seven survivors would return to their base, Lee Jang Hyun checked on Gil Chae. At this point, he advised him to go somewhere safe and promised that he would soon meet her there. This raises anticipation on budding romance between the duo.
