While many K-dramas center around a picture-perfect family, plenty of hit series that depict the story of single parents and how they raised their children alone. Captivating every viewer with heart-melting scenes, these K-dramas also give viewers hope and inspiration.

With that, here are 4 K-dramas that depict the journey of single parents and their struggles of surviving and raising their child.

'Moving'

One of the most talked-about K-dramas in 2023, "Moving," not only showcases the superhuman powers of the characters but also the challenges of being a single parent.

In the Disney+ series, Han Hyo Joo's role, Lee Mi Hyun, is a single mother who raised Kim Bong Seok (Lee Jung Ha) after an incident happened to her partner, Kim Doo Shik (Jo In Sung).

In addition, Ryu Seung Ryong's character, Jang Joo Won, raised his daughter alone after his wife died in an accident.

'When the Camellia Blooms'

The award-winning rom-com thriller K-drama stars Gong Hyo Jin and Kang Ha Neul. It illustrates the life of Oh Dong Baek (Gong Hyo Jin), who moved to a small town to raise her son.

Here, she meets the friendly local policeman, Hwang Yong Shik, played by Kang Ha Neul.

'Not Others'

Headlined by Jeon Hye Jin and Choi Sooyoung, "Not Others" is not a typical rom-com K-drama.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, it also follows the story of a modern-day single mother, Kim Eun Mi (Jeon Hye Jin), and her daughter, Kim Jin Hee (Choi Sooyoung), who is in her late 20s.

Eun Mi chose to raise her child despite being a high school student. Thankfully, the people around her pushed her to continue the pregnancy despite the struggles of being a young mom.

'Move to Heaven'

In the Netflix series "Move to Heaven," 20-year-old Han Geu Roo has a special condition. Despite it, he lives a normal life thanks to his father.

In spite of his autism, he is able to help his dad with their family business. They are the only ones running the business and are raised by a single father after his mom died.

Unfortunately, he is taken under the wing of his uncle after he loses his father.

"Move to Heaven" showcases drama and heartwarming stories among the people that Han Geu Roo and his uncle help.

Han Geu Roo is played by Tang Jun Sang, while Lee Je Hoon plays his uncle Cho Sang Gu.
