Nana stirs buzz in Hallyu for her participation in "Mask Girl." However, it's for another reason. While the series has been well-received by the public, a new issue regarding the idol-actress breaks out.

Here's what we know.

Nana Under Fire For Causing Nuisance To 'Mask Girl' Production

In August, Nana caused great ruckus in the entertainment scene for her transformation into a reckless prisoner in the Netflix show "Mask Girl."

Her performance as Kim Mo Mi won the hearts of the public, earning her high praises from viewers and critics alike. In addition, it also greatly diversified her filmography.

"Mask Girl" tells the life of a broadcast jockey who offers adult entertainment while hiding her identity behind a mask. Her life takes a dark turn when she becomes a notorious murder suspect.

This time, Nana is stirring a huge buzz for the wrong reason as she allegedly caused a nuisance to the production team of "Mask Girl" during its filming in the past year.

In 2022, she surprised the entertainment scene with her full body tattoo. While she's focusing on removing them now, the newly inked actress caused inconvenience to the crew of her drama.

According to a source, Nana only revealed the tattoos at the day of their principal filming, which required the makeup team a lot of time to cover it up.

Her impulsive decision to get tattoos before without giving consideration to her work put the crew in a time-consuming and difficult situation.

Although there's no law that says an actress can't get a tattoo outside of her contract, many spectators believe that showing basic consideration and respect for the project is essential.

No matter how skilled Nana is as an actress, her impulsive action could have been avoided had she been wiser in making decisions at the time.

'Mask Girl' Criticized For Nana's Bold Character

Besides her tattoo controversy, Nana is also criticized for her Kim Mo Mi transformation in "Mask Girl."

In the series, she lives a splendid life as a broadcast jockey who undergoes plastic surgery before getting imprisoned for serial murder.

Nana received major backlash for her character who committed heinous crimes without remorse. What made the viewers' eyebrows raise was the provocative elements in the show.

To recall, the singer-actress enters prison with her backside fully exposed. She also showed her character's survival instincts as she fights against fellow prisoners, which made viewers uncomfortable.

While Nana's performance was spectacular, the series certainly polarized the viewers. Fans come in defense, saying that the offbeat Netflix series aimed to make viewers uneasy about the moral of the narrative. One viewer said, "This is cinema."
