‘Moving’ Craze Results in Disney+’s Boost in Subscriptions

After hit K-dramas like "All of Us Are Dead," Sweet Home," and "Squid Game," another Korean series is taking the world by storm, none other than "Moving."

The webtoon-based K-drama is taking on the spotlight as the series depicts the story of 3 high school students who inherited their super powers from their parents.

Dubbed as the Korean Avengers," the series is not only based on the popular webtoon written by Kang Full but also showcases a slew of top stars and upcoming actors, from Jo In Sung, Han Hyo Joo, Ryu Seung Ryong, Cha Tae Hyu to Go Yoon Jung, Lee Jung Ha, and more.

'Moving' Helped Jump Disney+ Users

 Following the global premiere on August 9, viewers are looking forward to watching new episodes every week; however, Disney+ only airs this once a week with 2 episodes released simultaneously.

On the other hand, "Moving" reportedly helped the platform gain more subscriptions after the show officially premiered. 

In a report cited by a local media outlet, Disney+ Korea experienced a major boost in users, all thanks to "Moving."

Application analysis service Mobile Index recorded about 370,000 daily active users (DAU) on Disney+ this August.

Despite Netflix's reign with an average of 2.91 million, followed by 1.26 million from TVING, 1.11 million via Wavve, and Coupang Play with 710,000 people, Disney+'s performance stood out after showing a 48 percent increase in DAU from the previous months. This also proves that viewers are jumping on the "Moving" craze since it hit the small screen. 

As for the global rankings, the webtoon-based K-drama ranked first in five countries, including South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwa, showing the huge popularity of "Moving" that drove the increase in Disney+ users.

'Moving' Episodes 14 and 15 Release Date

Directed by Park In Je of "Kingdom" and penned by Kang Full, who is also the creator of the webtoon, "Moving" is a 20-episode K-drama airing once a week, except during the show's debut, where the whole 7 episodes were released.

As for the upcoming episode, "Moving" episodes 14 and 15's airing date is scheduled for September 6 at 4 p.m. KST. 

Viewers get to watch the newest episodes via Disney+ and Hulu.

As for the show's finale, Disney+ mentioned that the last 3 episodes will be released simultaneously on September 20.

On the other hand, Disney+ released still cuts featuring the character of Kim Sung Kyun, who played the role of Lee Jae Man, Lee Kang Hoon's father.

With this, viewers are looking forward to Jae Man's back story and how he is connected with the secret agents played by Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung, and Ryu Seung Ryong.
