Survivor: Blood vs Water winner spoiler alert - the Season 27 finale was as unpredictable as the rest of the season. After 39 days in the Philippines, Tyson Apostol emerged victorious, besting finalists Gervase Peterson, Monica Culpepper, and Ciera Eastin.

It could be argued that Tyson was in full control the entire season, and his win was pretty much expected. On the other hand, it was all dependent on who he ended up with at the finale. A lot of early season predictions were actually rooting for Big Brother winner Hayden Moss. The entire Blood vs Water season was gloriously unpredictable, and it seemed like it was anybody's game up until the end.

Ciera had to leave early in the two-hour finale, leaving just Gervase, Monica, and Tyson to fight for the one million dollars and the title of sole survivor. At the final tribal council, secrets were aired and tears were shed. In the end, at least five out of the eight jury votes ended up in Tyson's favor.

Tyson had all the makings of a winner though. The wiry blonde was both a physical threat and a strategic one. He dominated in challenges, even winning the final immunity challenge at the finale. He made big moves and strategic decisions all throughout the season. He found the two immunity idols in the game.

Most of all, he had great answers for the jury at the final tribal council. The former pro cyclist turned bike shop owner emphasized that he made strategic, calculated moves and not personal ones. He told the jury that because this is his third Survivor season - having first appeared in Survivor: Tocantins and Survivor: Heroes vs Villains - he just wanted to have fun. He was also able to make an emotional plea of sorts, talking about how he wanted to win for his girlfriend, Rachel Foulger, who sacrificed herself at Redemption Island.

Even his rivals saw that he could be a winner. When jury member Aras Baskauskas asked the finalists to name someone who could be the winner if it wasn't them, Gervaise and Monica both picked Tyson. Gervase said it was because Tyson had so many elements to his game, while Monica said it was because he found the idols and outplayed everyone in the challenges.

All in all, it was the most satisfying Survivor win and Blood vs Water is one of the most satisfying seasons in a long time. Though Tyson's win wasn't necessarily a surprise, it was an unpredictable win nonetheless.
