Why Cha Eun Woo Decided to Headline 'A Good Day to Be a Dog

Weeks before his small screen return, Cha Eun Woo shared what viewers should anticipate in his new series and revealed for the first time the reasons for choosing "A Good Day to Be a Dog" as his acting project comeback.

"A Good Day to Be a Dog" is a fantasy-romance K-drama based on a webtoon of the same name. It presents the story of a woman cursed to turn into a dog whenever she is kissed and a man who has the power to free her from the curse but unfortunately is scared of dogs.

In an interview, Cha Eun Woo explained why he decided to participate in the new series.

"I chose to join this project partly because I love dogs, and I found the concept of the female character quite interesting."

The heartthrob also expressed how he approached portraying Jin Seo Won's character, "He has a fear of dogs due to a past trauma. Despite his cold appearance, he has a kind and compassionate heart."

Adding to his reasons for accepting the work is his love for mathematics, "Since math was my favorite subject, I thought it would be fun to bring the math teacher character to life by making it more interesting and real."

When talking about what he focused on the most in playing his new role, Cha Eun Woo said, "Is to get across Seo Won's journey of dealing with his trauma alongside Hae Na (to be played by Park Gyu Young). I also talked a lot with PD'nim and the writer."

The "True Beauty" actor also pointed out how his personality is similar to Jin Seo Won. He expressed, "Like my character, I am also someone who might look a bit cold at first, but deep down, I've got a warm heart. I think Seo Won and I share that in common."

'A Good Day to Be a Dog' Premieres This October

"A Good Day to Be a Dog" is scheduled to premiere this October 11 on MBC. According to a source, the drama will only release one episode per week.

Furthermore, catch Cha Eun Woo, Park Gyu Young, and Lee Hyun Woo on primetime starting in October.

This marks Cha Eun Woo's second drama this 2023, following "Island 2" in February.
