Bae Suzy is Officially Back! Netflix Announces ‘Doona’ Release Date

The wait is finally over for viewers and fans as Bae Suzy's new drama "Doona" announces its release date.

In addition, Netflix also dropped the show's first trailer, featuring a sneak peek of the upcoming K-drama.

'Doona' Release Date, First Trailer

Netflix teased viewers with a glimpse of the much-awaited romance series "Doona," featuring Bae Suzy and Yang Se Jong of "Dr. Romantic" and "Temperature of Love."

The streaming giant dropped the first official posters, showcasing the undeniable chemistry of the two lead stars.

"What will you do if I actually end up falling for you?," the poster reads, while the actress, playing the role of Lee Doona, features a mysterious aura along with the phrase "don't fall for me either."

As for Yang Se Jong's character, who portrays Lee Won Joon, the teaser hints at a love-at-first-sight romance.

Besides this, Netflix also dropped the show's first trailer, illustrating the unexpected romance between Lee Doona and Lee Won Joon.

Depicting her post-idol life, Lee Doona met her neighbor, a university student who lives upstairs. Due to unexpected circumstances, they became close, which led him to fall for her charm and beauty.

"What goes on in that mind of yours? I'm dying to know." He said, as Won Joon spoke to Doona, who has been showing him great affection; however, she insists that he should not fall for her.

As Netflix hints at an interesting and thrilling K-drama, the streaming platform officially unveiled the show's premiere date.

"Doona" is set to premiere on the streaming platform on October 20, with a total of nine episodes for the whole season.

What to Expect in Bae Suzy's New Drama 'Doona'

Helmed by Lee Jeong Hyo of "Criminal Minds," "Romance Is a Bonus Book," and "Crash Landing on You," the upcoming series is based on the webtoon, titled "The Girl Downstairs."

It follows the unlikely friendship turned romance of two neighbors who live in the same building.

Lee Won Joon comes to the neighborhood on his fist day as a college student. Interestingly, he doesn't expect to see former idol, Doona, who turns out to be his neighbor.

Initially, he wants to avoid Doona but gets drawn to her beauty and mysterious life.

Joining Bae Suzy and Yang Se Jong are Park Se Wan and Lee Yoo Bi, with the special participation of Lee Jin Wook, Kim Do Wan, Go Ah Sung, Gabee, and more.

"Doona" will be Bae Suzy's follow-up project after the webtoon-based thriller series "Anna," in which she played a dual role.

As for Yang Se Jong, this is his first lead role since 2019 after the K-drama "My Country: The New Age."
