The Killing Vote Episode 8 Release date

Viewers were surprised not to see a new episode of "The Killing Vote."

It has been two weeks since the SBS thriller-mystery drama, starring Lim Ji Yeon, Park Hae Jin, and Park Sung Woong, last aired. After fans patiently waited for another week, viewers were dismayed that the broadcast network cancelled episode 8's release.

'The Killing Vote' Halts Episode 8 for Second Time

On October 5, hours away from the supposed broadcast date of "The Killing Vote" episode 8, SBS announced that they would be halting the upcoming episode due to the 19th Asian Games, which runs from September 19 to October 8.

On the other hand, reports noted that there's a deeper reason behind it.

In a report cited by Star News, the once-a-week programming of SBS has been cited as "one of the reasons for the poor performance" of the show, with viewership ratings hitting an average of only 3 to 4 percent.

"It was a strategy to increase immersion through dense programming, but many pointed out that because of this programming, the plot felt too slow," the news portal said.

On top of that, the frequent cancellations due to special events like the Asian Games 2023 also played a huge part in the show's dwindling ratings.

This means that there will be no airing of "The Killing Vote" episode 8 until October 12. The changes will also affect the last airing date of the show, and instead of 12 weeks of broadcast, it will take the show almost four months before airing the finale episode.

In addition, the news portal also mentioned that SBS plans to "only maintain Friday-Saturday dramas that have a solid viewer base for the time being."

As of this writing, the broadcast network has yet to release a statement regarding the official airing date of "The Killing Vote" and when viewers can expect the show's 8th episode.

Is 'The Killing Vote' Worth Watching?

Starring a roster of talented stars, "The Killing Vote" is based on the webtoon that depicts the story of a mysterious killer who goes after criminals who managed to use the law's loophole to escape their crimes.

It features a masked man known as Gaetal who executes the target suspect based on the public's votes.

Meanwhile, Park Hae Jin takes on the role of detective Kim Moo Chan, who is leading the investigation behind Gaetal. His team is working alongside the crime division run by Joo Chan, played by Lim Ji Yeon.

In addition, one of the significant people in the case is Professor Kwon, played by Park Sung Woong. The police are using him as bait to capture Gaetal.

"The Killing Vote" airs every Thursday and is available via SBS, Wavve, and Prime Video.
