THIS ‘Reply 1988’ Star is Spotted in the US Marathon – Is He Gearing Up for Competition?

Ryu Jun Yeol surprised the spectators after he was spotted participating in a marathon in the United States.

Held on October 8, athletes, runners, and enthusiasts, including the "Reply 1988" star, joined the 2023 Chicago Marathon, a platinum-label marathon that is said to be one of the world's major marathon events for the year.

In Ryu Jun Yeol's latest Instagram post, the actor shared the behind-the-scenes photos from the sports event and penned a touching message as he shared his journey.

In a post written in English, the 37-year-old actor said that joining the marathon felt like he had accomplished his "dream."

"From the moment I was standing at the start line, I felt like I had already achieved my dream because this journey was enjoyable, and I considered the outcome to be something that followed naturally," he wrote.

Moreover, Ryu Jun Yeol also encouraged his fans to try and took the opportunity to express his gratitude to everyone who has supported him since the beginning.

"Now it's your turn, I encourage all of you to join me on the next journey! ," he said, adding, "Once again, I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has been with me since day one."

Interestingly, a report cited that the 2023 Chicago Marathon is Ryu Jun Yeol's first marathon, which he has been preparing for a year.

"Despite jet lag and poor ankle condition, he completed the full course," the agency added, as mentioned by an outlet.

Interestingly, fans and netizens showed their interactions and videos featuring the actor, who seemed to be enjoying the event.

Based on his post, it seemed like we would see more of Ryu Jun Yeol in sporting events, especially marathons.

On the other hand, amid his new hobby, the actor is very active on screen.

Ryu Jun Yeol Stars in 'Money Game,' 'Alienoid 2'

After his K-drama comeback, "Lost," with Jeon Do Yeon, the 37-year-old actor will return to the small screen with an interesting project.

Ryu Jun Yeol will headline the upcoming K-drama "Money Game," a psychological-thriller series directed by Han Jae Rim of "Emergency Declaration."

He will star alongside Chun Woo Hee, Park Jung Min of "Hellbound," and Park Hae Joon of "The World of the Married."

The K-drama is scheduled to join the series, which will have its premier in the last quarter of 2023.

Other than that, Ryu Jun Yeol will also reprise his role in "Alienoid 2."

After the success of the first season, the historical action film will return with a new and original cast lineup, including Kim Tae Ri and Kim Woo Bin.
