‘Twinkling Watermelon’ Episode 5: Choi Hyun Wook Yearns To Meet Shin Eun Soo

Ha Eun Gyeol Learns More About His Father's Disability
"Twinkling Watermelon" episode 5 begins darkly as Ha Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun) drowns in a nearby lake while having a picnic with his family.
He screams for help but no one can hear him due to his family's inability to hear. Thankfully, his father comes to his rescue a little later.
Ha Eun Gyeol's father reveals that he lost his voice due to an accident which he correlates to the present time.
With this, he swears to save Ha Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) from harm even if it means changing what happens in the future completely.
Ha Lee Chan Forms His Band
Ha Eun Gyeol comes to Ha Lee Chan's school to compete in a guitar battle. If he wins, the best guitarist in school has to join the latter's band along with the drummer and the pianist.
After an intense brawl, Ha Eun Gyeol ultimately wins the bet, much to Ha Lee Chan's delight.
Ha Lee Chan finally forms a band but he sees another struggle which he has to pass. The new members don't want him as the front man, making it difficult for everyone in the group.
Because he doesn't know how to sing or play the guitar, Ha Eun Gyeol agrees to teach him so long as he studies hard to prepare for college. Ha Lee Chan happily obliges.

Elsewhere, Choi Se Kyung (Seol In Ah) leaves South Korea to study abroad for a greener pasture. She shocks everyone when she returns to the country again with a different persona.
Ha Eun Gyeol Makes Bold Decision
Choi Se Kyung chops her hair off and goes to the flea market to sell all her clothes where she meets Ha Eun Gyeol who confronts her for leading Ha Lee Chan on.
She confesses that she feels bad about it and apologizes. Ha Eun Gyeol then decides to keep her from going away, leaving Ha Lee Chan disappointed after learning about it.
He then comes to work where the owner shows him the girl who left the ticket for the concert before. Ha Lee Chan then runs after Yoon Chung Ah (Shin Eun Soo) and confronts her.
Ha Lee Chan accuses her of playing with his feelings and curses at her. Sooner, he feels bad after he learns that she has difficulty hearing.
After coming back to work again, his feelings continue to churn inside his stomach. When he decides to look for her and apologize, Choi Se Kyung arrives at the ice cream shop.
