As mentioned by the news portal, due to the severity of the issue, the officials most likely expected the actor's withdrawal from the series and understood his need to leave the show.

"It was predicted that it would take a long time for Lee Sun Gyun to clean up his situation after the unpleasant incident since last week, so the production company accepted the actor's request after discussions with the management company."

Currently, "No Way Out" is in the early stages of filming, and as for their schedule, the production is still ongoing despite the lead actor's decision to step down from his role.

Initially, Lee Sun Kyun's schedule for filming was set for the 20th, and his wife, Jeon Hye Jin, was also mentioned to appear in the series but was replaced by another actress.

Meanwhile, as drama officials have yet to address the replacement for Lee Sun Kyun, there's a big chance that the production will face major changes in the cast lineup as they decide the new actor who will be taking over Lee Sun Kyun's character.

The upcoming K-drama, directed by Choi Kook Hee of "Default" and "Life is Beautiful," depicts the story of a criminal who was released from prison.

On October 19, the public raised suspicion that the actor involved in the new drug scandal is top star Lee Sun Kyun. It was after outlets reported that the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit is doing an internal probe against a celebrity and seven others for violating the Drugs Control Act.

Following the clues released by the authorities, the public speculates that the "actor L," who is in his 40s, is Lee Sun Kyun.

Shortly after, his agency, HODU&U Entertainment, released a statement addressing drug-related issues involving the "Dr. Brain" star. At the time, the talent label said that they were in the "process of verifying the specific facts related to the allegations raised against Lee Sun Kyun."

In addition, HODU&U Entertainment also mentioned that the acor "has filed a complaint" against an individual "for continuous blackmail and threats."

After authorities confirmed that the controversial actor was indeed Lee Sun Kyun, brands started cutting ties with him and his wife. This includes their deals with SK Telecom and a health supplement endorsed by the actor.
