For six long weeks, the period piece "Arthdal Chronicles" decorated the weekend prime time. It successfully wrapped up its second season, which received great feedback from the viewers.

'Arthdal Chronicles 2' Successfully Ends With Stable Ratings

On October 22, the second season of the period drama "Arthdal Chronicles," led by Lee Joon Gi, finally closed its curtains.

The drama depicted the lives of Arthdal natives who protect their land from outsiders and powerful beings who plan to rule and destroy the realm.

Lee Joon Gi, Shin Se Kyung, Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Vin showed off their unstoppable synergy and impressive performances as the show's headliners.

Thanks to their hard work, the viewers were able to enjoy the stories of the tribes in the show. On the other hand, the season's finale recorded an average score of 4.6%.

Although the finale didn't surpass its personal best of 5%, "Arthdal Chronicles 2" was able to see a rise from its stagnant ratings in the previous releases.

Moreover, the second season of the franchise was also able to capture the fans from beginning to end, proving its great success.

Will There Be 'Arthdal Chronicles' Season 3?

With the drama's success and fresh ending, fans clamor whether there will be another installment for the entire "Arthdal Chronicles" franchise.

It ended with all loose ends tied neatly, even succeeded in suppressing the rebellion of the tribes in Season 1. In addition, Jang Dong Gun's Tagon has also been taken care of.

The tribes also achieved the much awaited reunification under the leadership of Lee Joon Gi's Eunseom, ruling the East while Shin Se Kyung's Tanya assumed the throne of the Wahan tribe.

While most parts were given closure, Tae Alha's Kim Ok Vin's journey hasn't ended yet in Season 2, raising speculations for a new installment.

The showrunners of "Arthdal Chronicles" haven't announced the renewal for the drama's production, especially with the drama's stagnant ratings over the weeks.

However, there is always a possibility for a spin-off, which is not uncommon in new K-drama releases. There's no news about it yet so stay tuned for more updates on the drama.
