Amid new K-dramas airing weekly, the SBS series managed to maintain a steady viewership.

In a report, Neilsen Korea shared that "The Escape of the Seven" episode 16 garnered an average nationwide rating of 5.2 percent, maintaining its viewership from the previous episode.

Airing every Friday and Saturday, viewers get to watch the latest episode via SBS, Viki, Wavve, and Prime Video.

The weekday drama delivered a round of surprises as Matthew Lee unleashed his revenge against his father, Chairman Shim. With his mission to get the Sungchan Group, he needs to eliminate the only heir, which is Min Do Hyuk.

At this point, he planned a bright yet evil idea to mess with Do Hyuk's name.

In one episode, Chairman Shim found out that his biological son was none other than Min Do Hyuk.

In hopes of starting his big revenge, he made a deep fake video showing that Chairman Shim and Min Do Hyuk are in a heated argument. The chairman shot Min Do Hyuk's legs after knowing that he was Shim Jun Seok.

At the end of the video, another shot was heard, but it didn't show who shot who. In reality, Chairman Shim saved Min Do Hyuk from a gunshot fired by Matthew Lee. The chairman instructed his son to escape.

In the next scene, he visited the chairman, who is critical at the hospital. His real father gave him the password to the Sungchan servers, hinting that he was passing the company on to him.

In the last scene, Min Do Hyuk launched a video revealing the true colors of Matthew Lee and Geum Ra Hee, who collaborated to get the money of the late Chairman Bang and the Sungchan group.

The broadcast revealed that the real Shim Ju Seok, or K, is Matthew Lee.

At his home, he found out that Do Hyuk had installed several hidden cameras to expose him to the world.
