THIS ‘Reply 1988’ Star is Reportedly Joining Lee Je Hoon’s Agency

Lee Dong Hwi might be working alongside Lee Je Hoon, but not for an on-screen project.

The "Reply 1988" star is reportedly signing under COMPANY ON, the management company founded by the "Taxi Driver" star.

Lee Dong Hwi Plans on Singing With Lee Je Hoon's Agency

In an exclusive report cited by Star News Korea, the actor plans to establish a new home and continue his acting career at Company On.

With this, Lee Dong Hwi will be labeled mates with Lee Je Hoon, who is also his close friend and co-star in the upcoming K-drama.

The duo stars in the highly anticipated remake of "Chief Inspector 1963," with Lee Je Hoon taking on the legendary role of Park Young Han.

Other than the duo, COMPANY ON also houses rookie actress Kim Eun Bi, who also appeared in "Taxi Driver" season 2.

As mentioned, Lee Je Hoon established his own agency in 2021. In a report cited by a media outlet, the actor launched the company because he "wanted to work for the rest of my (his) life."

The actor also shared what motivated him to establish his own talent agency.

"After the exclusive contract with the first company came to an end, I contemplated a lot about whether to stay with that company, move to a new company, or promote on my own."

What's Next for Lee Dong Hwi?

Best known for his K-drama role in "Reply 1988," as well as movies like "The Handmaiden" and "Confidential Assignment 1," Lee Dong Hwi has starred in multiple projects in the past years.

In 2023, he appeared in "Big Bet Season 2," taking on the role of Yang Jung Pal, one of the main characters in the Disney+ series.

He works as an agent for Cha Moo Sik, played by Choi Min Shik, who owns a casino in the United States.

As for his K-drama comeback, he is set to team up with Lee Je Hoon in the action drama remake.

Interestingly, he will also star in back-to-back movies in the coming year.

After joining the cast of "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman" Lee Dong Hwi returns as one of the lead stars in "The Roundup: Punishment," headlined by Ma Dong Seok.

For the movie's fourth installment, he will portray the antagonist with a new villain played by Kim Moo Yul.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, "The Roundup: Punishment" began filming in November 2022 and plans to air the movie sometime in 2024.

Viewers could also see more of Lee Dong Hwi on the big screen since he is also in talks to headline the comedy drama "Method Acting" with SF9's Chani.

Adding to the list of Lee Dong Hwi's upcoming films is "MORA" with Han Ji Eun.
