The 33-year-old actress first joined the agency in 2019, along with Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun. The label is owned and founded by Lee Ro Be, who is also Kim Soo Hyun's cousin.

A year after joining the agency, Seo Ye Ji starred in the 2020 hit K-drama "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" with labelmate Kim Soo Hyun.

In addition, she also starred in the 2021 thriller movie "Recalled" with Kim Kang Woo.

Unfortunately, following her skyrocketing career, the actress became the center of controversy.

Seo Ye Ji was embroiled in a bullying issue as well as gaslighting her former boyfriend Kim Jung Hyun.

Seo Ye Ji Controversy: From Peak Stardom to Scandal-Ridden Actress

In 2021, after the success of "It's Okay Not to Be Okay," Seo Ye Ji made headlines after she was accused of school violence and bullying.

On top of it, there was also suspicion over the falsification of academic records. The actress mentioned in the March 2017 episode of "Knowing Bros" that she studied in Madrid for three years.

Meanwhile, at the height of the controversy, her then-agency, Gold Medalist, shut down rumors and pointed out that the "suspicions about Seo Ye Ji are not true."

However, negative issues continued to hound the actress after she was accused of gaslighting Kim Jung Hyun.

Fortunately, despite the backlash and the accusations against her, Seo Ye Ji was able to return on-screen with the revenge series "Eve."

Taking on the revenge-driven Le Ra El, she starred alongside Park Byung Eun and Yoo Sun. The tvN series aired from June to July 2022 but received a lukewarm response from the public.

Viewers, however, were entertained by the interaction between Seo Ye Ji and Yoo Sun's characters as they played the roles of mistress and legal wife.

After "Eve," viewers looked forward to seeing the actress portray another challenging role in the future.
