‘Love Song For Illusion’ Episode 4: Hong Ye Ji’s Memories Return

Things take a complicated turn as real feelings begin to emerge between Park Ji Hoon and Hong Ye Ji in "Love Song For Illusion" episode 4.

Gye Ra's Memories Return

After Sajo Hyun (Park Ji Hoon) takes over his mind and body, he locks his alter ego to prevent more damage.

In "Love Song For Illusion" episode 4, Gye Ra's (Hong Ye Ji) memories return, urging her to continue her revenge plan on the king.

With this, she pulls a knife behind Sajo Hyun while hugging him. When she's about to get caught, she stops and acts like her memories haven't returned yet.

The crown prince then opens up about his childhood trauma, and his hardships as the king's son who suffered from his own father's wrath.

Sajo Hyun Bares His Heart

In episode 4, it's revealed that Sajo Hyun wanted to save her in the past. He shares that he witnessed the massacre of the Yeon family when he was still a child.

Sajo Hyun suffered from the trauma, causing Ak Hee, his alter ego, to appear inside his mind. Gye Ra's heart softens for the former, and wreathes the crown prince into a hug.

As Gye Ra continues to live as Sajo Hyun's concubine, she also becomes closer to the king. She helps him with medical remedies, and the king grows fond of her in return.

Sajo Hyun also develops romantic feelings for her. He then decides to stop her from leaving the palace. However, things get complicated when Geum Hwa (Ji Woo) reveals the truth.

Gye Ra's Secret Revealed

The crown princess unveils Gye Ra's secret, and her plan to  kill the king. Sajo Hyun and his men rush towards his father's cottage, only to find the king dead.

Gye Ra reveals that her memories had returned, breaking Sajo Hyun's heart. He thinks that her feelings were insincere, especially now that he has fallen for her.

Sajo Hyun calls her by her real name, rendering her speechless. However, everything goes to waste now that the king is dead, and there's no other suspect than Gye Ra.

At the end of the episode, the palace mourns the king's sudden demise as Sajo Hyun is left tormented due to his loss and broken heart.
