Flex X Cop Episode 1: Ahn Bo Hyun Enters Police Force as Undercover Cop

Ahn Bo Hyun's new drama "Flex X Cop" entertained viewers by delivering a new twist to an action rom-com series.

With this, the SBS K-drama kicked off with a promising start.

'Flex X Cop' Viewership

The series joins the rating race as "FLex X Cop" episode 1 showed an impressive rating.

In a report, Nielsen Korea recorded an average nationwide rating of 5.7 percent for its pilot episode. It was amid the tight competition between "Knight Flower" airing in the same time slot.

To recall, the drama's predecessor, "My Demon," which starred Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung, garnered an average nationwide rating of 4.5 percent for its pilot episode.

'Flex X Cop' Episode 1

Helmed by Kim Jae Hong of "Revenant" along with screenwriter Kim Ba Da of "My Name," the SBS new series "Flex X Cop" focuses on the life of a chaebol son who unexpectedly enters the police force after being involved in a complex case.

Joining him on the new series are Park Ji Hyun, Kwak Si Yang, Kim Shin Bi, and more.

In the show's pilot episode, Jin Yin Soo, the third-generation chaebol and the youngest son of the Hansu Group chairman, is living a lax life.

After veering away from the responsibilities of his role as the company's manager, he is more focused on doing role-play survival games.

However, one incident changed his life forever.

As someone born in a wealthy family, Jin Yin Soo neglects his priorities and lives without purpose. This attitude of his also disappoints his brother and especially his father, who thinks that Jin Yin Soo put their name in shame.

In "Flex X Cop" episode 1, the third-generation chaebol left the club after wanting to check on his best friend Hyung Hwan, who was intoxicated.

In the middle of his conversation with him, Jin Yin Soo received a call from his older brother, who reminded him of the big presentation that he needed to attend.

However, he mentioned that his friend needed help.

Lo and behold, he found Hyung Hwan being attacked by a killer. 

Jin Yin Soo beat him, but investigator Lee Kang Hyun saw him and arrested Jin Yin Soo. One of the charges that he had to face was pretending to be a cop after she found a fake badge.

During the investigation, Lee Kang Hyun said that she has no intention to be lenient towards him, especially since he knew that he could get away from this because of his status.

However, despite him telling the truth, investigator Lee believed that he was the suspect. The police force was shaken after they found out that Jin Yin Soo was innocent and was protecting his friend.

After the news broke that the son of the Hansu group was arrested, his brother fixed his image by making him an undercover agent and helping him enter the police force.

This was also one way of clearing the police's name since they detained Jin Yin Soo despite his innocence.
