Yoo Ah In’s Attacker Reveals Reason Behind the Incident: ‘I thought I needed to teach him a lesson’
Yoo Ah In's attacker back in 2023 revealed the reason behind his action.
At the height of the actor's controversy, the "Seoul Vibe" star attended the scheduled interrogation at the Seoul Central District Court building.
Yoo Ah In's Attacker Speaks Up
On May 24, several media outlets are waiting for his return and the possibility of a brief statement regarding the case.
However, as he was about to exit the Mapo Police Station in Seoul, an unidentified person threw coffee at Yoo Ah In.
Almost a year after the incident, an outlet revealed few details regarding his identity.
In a report cited by Yonhap News TV, the said person voluntarily disclosed his identity.
Claiming to be the assailant, the outlet shared that the person, a 15-year-old male, approached them in December 2023, revealing what prompted him to attack Yoo Ah In.
According to the teen, he was infuriated by reports about Yoo Ah In's drug case.
"I became angry while watching the news on the drug allegations of Yoo Ah In, whom I didn't like. So, I thought I needed to teach him a lesson," he said, as obtained by a media outlet.
In addition to his claim, the person also sent photos of him and left a request, saying
"If there are any photos containing my image, please provide them to me."
To recall, the public was surprised after footage of Yoo Ah In being attacked by a stranger circulated online.
The teenage student hit Yoo Ah In with a coffee bottle on his back as he exited the Mapo police station.
The actor quickly looked back but was escorted into the waiting van.

Other than the award-winning actor, the 15-year-old male was also the person behind the attack on PPP lawmaker Bae.
The politician was entering a building to visit a hair salon, but he was struck by a rock 17 times.
At the time, the teenager revealed to the investigators that he did it because he thought that the lawmaker was "doing a bad job as a politician."
Besides the coffee incident, a citizen threw a wad of money to Yoo Ah In.
During the pre-trial, a commotion happened after an unidentified person threw money at the actor and yelled, "Use this money in prison."
As for the actor, he didn't respond to the incident and entered the vehicle with a poker face.
Yoo Ah In Drug Update
The award-winning actor is facing drug charges after he tested positive on five different drugs.
On January 23, Yoo Ah In concluded his second hearing with his legal team, citing that the actor consumed the illegal drugs for medical reasons.
According to his counsel, Yoo Ah In has been "suffering from depression, panic disorder, and sleeping disorders for a long time" and was brought on by the lifestyle of being a celebrity.
