Miss Korea' Lee Yeon Hee Smiles Through Pain
Actor Lee Ki Woo successfully transformed into a bad guy character.
In MBC Wednesday/Thursday drama "Miss Korea" (script Suh Sook Hyang director Kwon Suk Jang), Lee Ki Woo plays the role of a skilled investor in an investment M&A company that is well known in the U.S., "Lee Yoon". In the drama, he rids himself of the warm image and perfects the image of an investor who is cynical and chic.
From the 1st episode, Lee Ki Woo shows a chic and cold image as he attracts others.
The CEO of BB Comestics Kim Hyun Jun (played by Lee Sun Kyun) seem to fall into a risk of bankruptcy and he as well as the three enginerers seem to go on about the product to get an investment to Lee Yoon (played by Lee Ki Yoo). Then suddenly, he says jokingly, "When did you men start to sell coemstics like this" and isolates Hoo Hyung Joon in a cynical way.
At this, even at Hyung Joon's request giving him an envelope full of money to get an investment, he said, "How did you turn out this way?" with an insulting comment and in this moment turning away, this showed the relationship between Lee Yoon and Kim Hyung Joon's relationship in a clear way as the tension added to the drama.
His cold character stod out even more in the 2nd episode.
As he thought that Hyung Joon's BB cream was worth investing in, he said, "I need to hunt. This is great bait" and showed an aggressive side but because of the low product recognition, he said directly to Kim Hyung Joon that he would draw out an investment merit. In the mdist of all of this, Lee Ki Woo naturally melted into a corporate hunter and captured the attention of the audience.
Especially with his chic and sharp looks, his character was easy to focus on and with the conflict with Lee Sun Gyun, it added humor.
Meanwhile, on the episode of "Miss Korea" broadcast on December 19th, SBS "You Who Came From a Star" took 2nd place.
