Other than English, the 32-year-old beauty used to be fluent in Chinese, which is because she spent most of her childhood years in China.

At the time, they had to relocate to another country because of her dad's work.

Kim Go Eun also shared that she used to speak fluent Chinese because the place that they lived in had no foreigners.

However, her parents make sure that she won't forget her roots and can still converse in Korean.

"My parents enforced a no-Chinese policy at home. We also used to borrow Korean entertainment shows or drama videotapes. There were a lot of videotapes in China, so we had easy access to them. I remember watching things like 'Nonstop' back then," shew said, as obtained by SBS Star.

When asked if she is still fluent speaking Chinese now, Kim Go Eun said "no," adding that she has "forgotten a bunch of words."

However, the actress added that she might recall some "if it's an emergency situation or something."

Besides recalling her childhood experience in China, the actress also revealed a surprising secret about her career.

According to her, being an actress was not part of her plans, but instead she ended up enjoying it.

Since her father was "crazy about movies," she spent most of her free time watching loads of DVDs and would bond over good films.

"So, it just felt like I was always drawn to the world of films and dramas."

Due to this, being part of a movie rather than being in front of the camera was her dream job, but somehow she ended up being an actress.

Kim Go-Eun is one of the most sought-after stars of her generation. From multiple nods to recognitions like the Grand Bell Award 2012 for Best New Actress for "Eungyo," the 2016 Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Actress in TV for "Cheese in the Trap,"  and more, she has proven her versatility in acting.

On the other hand, her breakthrough performance was playing the lead role in "Goblin" with Gong Yoo.

In addition, Kim Go Eun also headlined the hit K-drama "The King: Eternal Monarch" with another South Korean heartthrob, Lee Min Ho.
