‘Queen of Tears’ Makes History After Surpassing ‘Crash Landing on You’

'Queen of Tears' Steals Crown From 'Crash Landing on You' With Its New High Ratings

In the latest week's broadcast of the rom-com series, "Queen of Tears" achieved its all-time highest viewership ratings yet. After attaining double digits in Episode 3, the drama's Episodes 5 and 6 recorded another high rating.

According to Nielsen Korea, "Queen of Tears" Episode 5 garnered 10.96 percent rating nationwide and 12 percent in the Seoul area.

Meanwhile, Episode 6 is holding the highest viewership rating with a score of 14 percent nationwide and 15.2 percent in the Seoul area.

In less than a month after its debut, the series already made impressive progress as it continues to break its records every week.

Not just that, but "Queen of Tears" also made history as it surpassed "Crash Landing on You."

In particular, "Crash Landing on You" Episodes 5 and 6, which aired on December 28 and 29 in 2019, recorded 9.7 percent and 9.3 percent, respectively.

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won's ongoing drama was able to beat these records, making "Queen of Tears" one of the highest-rated dramas in tvN's history.

The series is expected to break new records in the upcoming weeks as more viewers are watching the weekend drama.

'Queen of Tears' Remains Most Buzzworthy K-Drama

Aside from its skyrocketing ratings, "Queen of Tears" also proves its popularity by maintaining its spot at No. 1 in the Most Buzzworthy K-Drama list.

MBC's "Wonderful World" comes second, and tvN's "Wedding Impossible" ranks third.

"Doctor Slump" also made it to No. 4 followed by "Flex x Cop" in No. 5.

The drama's lead stars Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun also dominate the Most Buzzworthy K-Actor list as they occupy the first and second spots, respectively.

Rising actress Jang Da Ah impressively makes it to the top 3, while Cha Eun Woo makes it to the No. 4.
